hi all, im bjorn from S/Wales UK. Recently bought a 07 FE450, had many RFS KTMs over the years but i can honestly say the Berg is a far better bike, really enjoying riding her. Copes well with gnarly forestry stuff, as well as trails. One thing im trying to search the forum for, is a guide to checking the valve clearances, Ive done it on RFS engines, but would like a hand to start off with on the berg. Cheers.

Open the valve covers from the valve cover and put the feeler gauge between the rockers and valve. Adjust by loosening the nut and turning the flathead screw.
Some people use a trick where you loosen the nut and tighten the screw to the point where it resists turning a bit (it should rotate freely), then loosening 1/8 a turn. I only quarantee your money back if something goes south with this one.

Thanks guys, I was hoping for tolerance figures and crank marks for TDC....[emoji102]

the important tolerances are the same as the RFS

100% same head and rocker parts just different casting and RFS cam is longer for water pump drive you can cut it off and use RFS cam in a berg

the cam chain is an 06b in the berg and an 03b in the rfs, you have the same size crank main bearings

there is a locking bolt at the front of the cases for TDC
