gday all from warm summery Oz. the temp was about 24 deg C here today and rising for a long dusty summer. Bring on the rain. Still off work and busting to get onto this bike.

question
has frame geometry changed over the years- say 96 to current model-
engine mounts
rear motor/ frame/ swingarm
triple clamp to frame mounting

would an old motor and suspension fit onto a newer frame?
a 400 to a 600 or 650 frame?
thanks Lee

A; yes the engine changed for the year 2001. from i believe 98-00 the engines were the same.

engine mounts
A; they changed the starter from infront to behind in the late 90s so that would be doubtful i think.
rear motor/ frame/ swingarm
A; new steering head angle for '03 model that was 1.5 degrees steeper.
triple clamp to frame mounting
the clamps have been 22mm for as long as anyone can remember BUT someone pointed out last week that they had less offset on theirs. why not have a look at the parts manuals in the downloads because at the end of the part numbers they put the year that that poart started being fitted. so 90938376645 '03-

is what you would see.

A; from 2001 to todate yes.
a 400 to a 600 or 650 frame?
A; they're all the same mate!

please stop asking difficult questions. my brain hurts!!!!!

i'm not brill on stuff older than '01 so you know....

regards

Taffy
