CR500 endoing over log and the crowd goes nuts

husky highway was over 3 km last time we raced it, but that was 4 or 5 years ago and I'm not sure when the last time it was ridden. Maybe it needs a Husky again, and I don't mean that only a motorcycle with a TE designation wiill makeit through. The 'highway' is a creek with gravel bottom, bottomless bottom, roots, deadfall, then really big deadfall and more mudholes. One year we were marking the course and came upon a ten foot tall pile of dealfall that had been washed into a pile in the creek. Way to much work with a chainsaw, so we ribboned over the top. Most ghost rode over, some rode over and Julian Cerny table topped it.

Ok the whole ride is going through it!!

Brendan,

That's the one ...hehe. That was one of the small logs. I remember going over ones alot larger and they kept coming one after another. I feel great exposing Fryguy riding like a squid to the Bergites  I guess we have to give him some slack since it was his pre-Berg days.

Sorry to hear that section is not used in the race anymore.

Its great to see that Lee is a mere mortal like the rest of us. I was under the impression he never crashed. Cant say "went down" cause he performed the perfect two step dismount with the arms raised like " I won". hehehe
Being from Nevada I better buy some logs to practic on since they are not part of my normal obstacles. I would have truned around at the first one and said the trail is blocked get a saw.hahaha
Cand wait.

well if i can figure out how to sneek by dudley do-right and his friends at the border i will be there. sounds like great fun and i would suggest leaving the shrubbry at home found out the hard way on that many years ago.

but you should take charlie with you shaggy! you know he deserves to take a trip

Any chance that we get to see a representative of the Queens own country? We would love to have you in the mix, just leave the urge to crash at home though please!!

fry

hey fry is this ride going to be anywhere near banff? was there in the 80's skiing and that place is beautiful. hopefully i won't run into the same border patrol guy.

Shaggy,

Crowsnest is a couple hours south of Banff. It is close to the Alberta/British Columbia border and just north of the Canada/USA border. Montana is just south of this area.

fry

hi fry

well unless one of our newer members comes through i doubt it very much! i am about to have my 'anus' horribles as HM Liz said about 15 years ago. i have said 2007 and that is what i will save for if that is where and when the boys have another ride.

i look upon moab as truly one of the greater things i've done and seen in my life. i wish brian good luck in whatever he now does. shame he dropped off the edge of the world.

if any of the europeans are thinking of going over i think they would have said it. keep having the force rides but don't forget that unless you call them 'grade 2' then they'll dilute. you should stop calling each get together the 'greatest' and name the date of the 'big one'.

2006 fine. i'll just catch the 2007 'big one'. i doubt it'll ever be the same again though. berger's phuqing amazing jesture was awesome. special. brian's offer of collection, accomodation, grand canyon and delivery is still very special.

the scenery-wow!

i wish the site every success and the marquee but soon, with all the reliable machines inviting a slightly shallower owner, the fact that SM riders appear to be egocentric (i.e. at the other end of the spectrum) makes me think that we'll never be that tight and back there again.

but life moves on and sometimes we need a prod and other times UHE changes them for you. if i had a choice i'd come over just to meet fry, tuts, berger, the crazy canooks and a few more again and ride off in a pack 'o 6.

i don't need a free T-shirt; just good mates.

regards

Everyone,

I spoke with a very friendly lady in Blairmore, Alberta Canada today, in search of information as to what is required by us to be able to ride in Alberta, Canada.

All vehicles, including trailers are required to have insurance. I called Progressive Insurance and surprisingly they have Husaberg listed and my 2002 FE501e would cost me $75 for a years coverage.

You will need to provide documentation of said insurance when entering Canada and anytime a Ranger asks for it..

You need to bring proof of U.S. citizenship (drivers license will do).

Your bike must have a working headlight & taillight (headlight must shine at least 30 meters) per Ranger she spoke with.

All bikes must have a muffler and spark arrestor.

I hope this information is helpful to those of you are planning on going in 2006 as I am.

Hey Ossaman, awesome to hear that you are into some Canadian back bacon, which is ironically an American thing. However, I was hoping that you news would not be the case, but it must be. We are governed by liberals, consequently we have laws to protest the stupid from themselves.

I'll verify your findings and in the mean time check out www.crowsnestpass.com and www.cnpquadsquad.com for some surfing entertainment. The area is a bustling snowmobile area in the winter and summer events are very diverse, so hotels and attractions abound.

I was just cruising the quad squad site and riding your dirt bike on the street is legal, except for main streets and highways!!! This gets better by the minute. I'll be checking it out further to see that we can stage in town from our hotels/campground.

well i ain't coming but i will ask the following;

name me an international airport or two that connects please?

name methe canadian county/state you'll all be in so i can look up the map and follow yer progress?

The Crowsnest Pass in the the southwest corner of Alberta, Canada. It provides passage from southern Alberta through the Rocky Mountains into Southern British Columbia.

The nearest airport is in Calgary, Alberta, approximately 3 hrs drive from terminal to staging area.

Hey Taffy. If you change your mind and happen get a cheaper flight to Detroit I can drive ya over. If anyone else out in the east is going and would like to talk about driving over with me let me know. I'm always up for a good road trip.

Lubbz, your hard core to drive from Dee troit, and all the better to have you

I used to live in Montana so I know that drive well. I cant wait for the whole thing, drive and all. I miss the mountains out there and to pass up a chance to take the hussy and great riding? No way. Besides hard core is where the fun is.

cheers lubbz!

enjoy the ride and i'll save for 2007 probably.

regards
