hi fellas.

bike : 2014 Husaberg FE450 (anniversary edition).

current setup : off road wheels.

project : want to fit a set of KTM Motard wheels . Wheels obtained.

Problem : the 5 inch rear , when mated with a 160 sized rear tire , contacts the chain.

Is there some kind of technique , parts or skill involved ?

Thanks.

.

my 05' FS650e came stock with a 5" behr rim on a kush hub. Irrelevant i know...

anyway, there was no rubbiing at all with pilot powers. 160/60-17…

every other tire ive tried needed trimming with a block plane. I used soapy water in a spray bottle for cutting fluid.

Eh...tried a non oring chain and it just wore out quickly. (1,500 miles)

back to X ring chain and still had rubbing.

eneded up adjusting the wheel over with the spokes.

i loosened all the sprocket side spokes half a turn, then tightened all the disc side spokes 1/2 a turn.

i think i did 1/4 turns after that, two more laps around the rim. it moved it over considerably. it put the tire within 1-2mm from ghe swingarm.

i had some tire/silencer interference aswell, so keep an eye on that with a fat tire..

wide tires that rubbed bad in order… (had the most rubbing with first ones on the list)

hope that helps..
