hi taffy no i dont have battery its neva had one and used to run great its got a brand new plug in thanks bri
hi i think i found my problem one ov the nuts on rockers had dissapeared into engine no damage tho do u think this was my problem wen i refit them do u think it will run ? thanks bri

you really must get those tappet locknuts tight - real tight! it's an ever recurring problem - ask froggy who has fragged the top end of his engine because of it.
don't be wimpy with the locknut ok?
yes it will have been your problem.
how are you going to try and get it out? it should be in your sidecover but whatever you do, don't run the bike again till you've found it. re-set and re-tighten all the tappets again.

hi taffy yes i found it in side case the valves are set at 0.10 mm is that right thanks everyone who posted answers you have a great site thanks again bri
Man, One Lucky Bugger you are. the nut came off and you found it without it damaging anything... Froggy, someone just does not like you....
i know i thought that my self very lucky bout time tho my 400 fe blew up shattering piston bending conrod and cracked barrel and bent out let valves all because they dnt have a limiter and i wuz running it hard
my bike still woant start it just fires and thats it anyone know ov anything else that could be wrong its got a spark it gets fuel dnt know wot else to try

ok i save this one till last but it always worked for me.
pour some neat petrol down into the sock. a thimble full. the carb will suck on that. used to get mine going everytime when i first got it.
another thing is that i found the ignitionm timing ******** by 8 degrees. i always had your problem but once i had advanced it - i never had it again!
