Expected Engine Life 2010 FE's

My 2010 570 needed a new piston, bore and rod kit at 1600 kms! This was covered under warranty as a "good will gesture" from Husaberg Australia but there was an outside influence in my engines early demise ( dealer related). It was awesome that the guys at Husaberg Australia backed up their product and recognised the real problem with my bike! From what i have read on here my story is a "one off" and most people have enjoyed great life from their bikes. Im looking forward to the same experience with mine now that its back together and running sweet again!

The story is much longer than i can type here but the thick of it is that i took it back to him because it had trouble hot starting, surprise surprise! He had the bike for a few weeks as i was working away at the mines then. When i got it back it still wasn't any better. I gave it back to him for another few weeks while i went back to work again. Six months later i took my bike back off him in pieces as i had had enough of his lies! It ran fine when i gave it to him, just didn't start hot. To this day i still don't know exactly what happened to my bike and im not convinced that Husaberg Australia really know either! None of the numerous explanations from that particular dealer really add up and a few of them contradict the others. Im not in the "naming and shaming" game so i wont point out directly who it was, im sure he probably reads this forum and knows who he is! It's not hard to work out though, he was the only South Australian dealer at the time. Thats probably enough from me about that in this arena. I cant stress enough how good the guys at Husaberg Australia were with dealing with my problem and they have even recently honoured their own word by agreeing to send me a new fuel pump now that my bike is finally back together again and has the same initial problem!

Simple fix...you need to replace the camshaft, the new part gives more lift to the auto decompressor....mine was done with compliments of Husaberg/KTM. problem sorted, new cam and ignition re-map bike 100%

Hi guys, I know I am opening up an old post but I am keen to know how people are doing with their FE570's nearly 3 years on from the last post on here. What is the verdict on hours / miles / kilometres for the reliability of the machine.
I have a 2009 FE570 with 162 hours on it 6400k's and it is running like a dream but I was considering doing some mods to make it a dual sport light weight adventure bike...more and more lighter bikes are the the desire for this type of riding here in New Zealand.
I was also thinking of putting the Safari front tank on it and keen to get people's opinions if they have done anything similar on long range testing.
:D

i didn't see this thread when i bought my FE570 so started a thread to find out roughly when to expect rebuilds. thread is here:

news was certainly all good, the 70 degree engines just seem to keep going and going. best example was the guy in spain who runs a fleet of them as hire bikes, his FE390 has 40000km and no rebuild as yet.

mine has made a very capable adventure bike... cush drive hub, padded seat, geared up, gps, budget luggage setup. the aftermarket tanks are out of my budget so i just strap on a jerrycan when i need the extra range.

re: the weephole, the mod to ensure you don't get crud in there is well documented on this forum. just google husaberg weephole mod.

Thank you Sunny, if the problem persists with the new fuel pump i will definitely look into that! The original pump has actually failed completely now so im fairly sure the new one will help out in that department.
