I have a 2" tear in my boot that connects the throttle body to the engine. Just thought I'd throw it out there and let everyone know that this piece will break down. My airbox boot also seems alot softer than a newer airbox that I installed for a friend... Lots of heat in this area. My symptoms involved a high idle. I then proceeded to overtighten boot causing a greater tear. Quick fix while riding: bring a bike tire patch kit along with larger patches that you can cut to size...for all you long distance adventure riders. Duct tape may even work in a pinch...

have a little over 200hrs on the bike, usually running at about 15mph... so lots of heat building up. A dozen mild overheats, and a couple hrs of running the bike real lean (clogged injector) looks like a ktm 530 boot will do the trick. But my fix is still holding til the new one gets here. No down time allowed.

so, my fix lasted 3 rides before the high idle started kicking back in. Fortunately my "new" boot arrived just in time. A slightly used boot from a 2010 ktm 530 did the trick... the tear grew another inch and a half, causing it to idle at around 2000 rpm.
On another note, ordered new EBC clutch discs which also fit a 2010 ktm 530 six days. EBC252 is the part number. Little cheaper than buying berg stuff. Lot of 530 crossover parts.
