I have just received my 2nd Lineaweaver racing Dual Spring Valve Spring Kit.
The kit consists of inner and outer springs, bottom spring shim, and titanium spring retainers for 4 valves. Dale claims the seat pressure is the same and the peak pressure is 1/3 of OEM if I recall correctly. This should definitely increase the rocker arm cam follower bearing and cam lobe life. Max rpm is 10,500+ with OEM valves.
The 1st kit went into my 04 550, the 2nd into my 00 501.
The install process on the 04 required Dale to machine some material off of each valve shim to achieve nominal installed spring height because the engine only had 76 hours on it and had negligible valve recession.
The install on the 00 501 required no machining just 0.040" additional shims (Off the shelf from Racetech), on 3 of the valves and 0.010" on the 4th valve. The 00 has 10,650 miles and 385 hours on it and had broken a valve spring38 hours ago, dropping the valve and leaving me stranded.
The kits were reasonably priced and easy to install. Please disregard the grease on the parts in the attached photo.
Regards,
Joe
