I find it ironic that a negative is that Husaberg lacks aftermarket parts while finishing on the podium in an "aftermarket" endurance/performance test in stock form.

A lot of work and effort put in by the Boss, Brett, Fryguy and Hairfarm. Team DR 24hr has put up 2 podium finishes in 2 years, surrounding by the worlds best. Great job guys.

Agreed, a bang up job by the boys. Imagine what the 'berg would have done with another $5000 worth the goodies (price of many of the other bikes was $14,000).
$5000 to add what, exactly?

Besides dual-sporting parts if you want to street legalized it, beefier barkbustsers and glide plate for rocky or woods, what does the bike need that is not a gadget? It's about $500 for the DS parts, $100 for for the plate and $50 for the BBs, total $650 tax and shipping included.
I was saying that for $5,000 the 'berg would have won the overall, not just best stock bike.
I also beleive that hbg sent the right people and bike.[/quote:vqllx99p]

But... what would you add? There is nothing to add, really... It's just as good as it is.

I forgot a jetting kit, which means it is technically impossible to spend more than $1000 if all you want is a well-jetted dual-sported with beefier protections.

If you are a big guy (over 220 lbs) I guess a good suspension job for about $1000 more, and even.

Still $3000 to spend on a TTR for the wife or son.

I know there is a very expensive exhaust one can buy.

What about a steering dampener?

Oh now you're talking.

Why not an auto-clutch while you're at it? ;)

Enzo sub tanks?

Sounds like the wife will have to stay home...

Akro exhaust for cool sound, less weight, and more hp. SXS suspension or just totally give the stock stuff the hard anodized and polished treatment to smooth supple response. Add steering dampner. Install mousse tubes. Throw in a omero tank for better ergos. I think there might still be money left on the table for a Stella after the ride.

Thanks, good read, but I still will buy the magazine and subscribe.

What type of testing did they do? Was is a-rocking in the parking lot?

Indeed it was rocking so no one was knocking.

Do I need to scan and post that too?????

jeesh

Thanks Kelsow for posting those links, very nice.

I'm sure its been discussed some where, but the 'wider but smaller fuel tank' is false. It actually measures 10.5 L, so it is wider for a reason.

Dan Watt, he's 'chuk' here on UHE, will be pretty happy with the two pics he has in the article.

cheers

Thanks Fry,

It seems there had been some bad info on the tank claiming a reduction in capacity.

Even if next year we have a desert tank available and more after market parts, they still will not make this bike a winner, and the reason for some will be because it is "weird" (whatever that means).
