Holy crap! Dale, this morning, did you have to knock out the wall of your office to get inside, cause your head must be HUGE. All this asskissin is making me sick. :puke: I don't think Dale is going to be offering any free stuff, people!!!

Dale, where is the love, you have 39 of the most disgraceful posts in this topic practically asking you for your hand in marriage, and you ask "where's the love"?!?!?!

Technically, ANYONE on this forum could start ANY husaberg engine by hand. Now, if we had a video of Rick walking around a husaberg motorcycle show randomly startin bikes by hand, THEN I would be quite impressed (and amused).

So, to up the stakes, I'll raise my bet to $100 for husaberg.org, just to see it happen.

Any takers????

Rick, do us a favor, grab a video camera, and put this thread to bed!!!

Gentlemen,
No need to lock the thread.

Frog (whom is a challenge to say the least) posted something nice about me.

Log interjected that Rick can start a Husaberg by hand.

I simply found such to be unlikely with a bike such as Froggy's and in so many words stated such.

Log made a few feeble jabs regarding my products and then provided a back peddle accusation.

Log was even so bold as to take a poke @ my beloved 'Blues" music. Blasphemy!

Mr. Log seems to have the (wood) chip on his shoulder as opposed to I and / or Rick Bozarth. (pun intended)

Truthfully and for the most part I simply treat such silly threads as part of my ongoing education regarding human behavior.

Such threads also provide a means for sharpening ones wit.

Sincerely,
Dale

PS
Log, your woodwork truly is incredible.

Well Dale, you know me and I wouldn't BS ya'... but I used to start my 94.5 FC501 by hand. The first time I did it was by accident (nearly crapped myself when she fired), but from then on it was just a trick I liked to do.

Sure, it wasn't the tightest of motors. And I only tried it when it was already warm. But truth be told it was really easy to do... TDC and stroke...

Now when I was a wee lad (1976), I had a Maico 501. Know the difference between a Bing and an Amal? Yea, you know that one...

Needless to say, I think 'bergs are easy to start by comparison. The true test of manhood was pushing a Maico 501 a mile through the sand...

Hi Ken,
Yes, I too have owned several Maicos. :D

The single post which started it all:
"I would pay to see anyone (including comic book heros) hand start a pre kokusan Husaberg"

Frogs bike as many was very hard to start. Proper state of tune makes starting easier as does the correct starting procedure and a solid ignition.

Failing to realize I needed to completely spell it out in grave detail my reply was in reference to anyone (including comic book super heros) hand starting a "difficult" Husaberg.

The truth is most early Husaberg engines started quite readily via boot providing proper procedure, correct state of tune and a solid SEM. No reason a strong arm could not provide the same force.

Being a pilgrim of many years regarding Sturgis and Daytona I have more than once been witness to drunken bikers successfully hand starting a Pan, shovel or knuckle. Practical? Not really. Possible? Of course. Point in doing such? I have no clue.

(The Evo and Twin Cam owners seem to be above such drunken antics)

My original point:
I would be willing to pay for the entertainment value regarding the hand starting of a "difficult" Husaberg.

In short:
From now on I will be certain to make my posts rambling, long and in depth so as to insure everyone whom reads "gets it".

As for me, such a thread is no bother at all as I truly enjoy controversy. Controversy often provides insight as to how much one truly knows about a particular subject.

Sincerely,
Dale

Maico-Breako, Hell when I was a boy (the earth was still cooling...) I used to start my Maico with my SPHINCTER!!! Now I have a REAL challenge for all you he-men (and girly-boys) try and start my Craftsman 3.5 HP lawn mower after it's been sitting in the rain outside my garage... (sorry, no room inside, too many "toys"!)
-Rocky-

P.S. no starting fluid allowed!

Sorry Luke as I truly have no idea what you are talking about.
Care to be a bit more specific?

Dale

At what point in time did good solid advice and/or access to useful data on this internet site not qualify for a "free" designation? If you have doubts about its value, try getting some "free " legal or medical advice!

Must do a lot of fishing as a pass time because I think you got a lot of bites on this one. The start of the post sums it up. Good point.

Hi Bill,
Personally, I find fishing to be boring @ best. However, I do enjoy a good old fashioned disagreement. Duress often provides a glimpse of ones true nature.

Best Regards,
Dale

:? Personally (but by no means personal) , I've found this entire post boring. Isn't there something broken somewhere that you guys can find to fix? I agree, if they ever award a Nobel Prize for Husaberg Repair (NPHR), it will surely go to someone of the UHE. Anyone who has had to teach theirselves Husaberg repair and try to find parts for same definetly appreciates this site. Keep up the good work, and while you're at it , heap some praise on me: a decent Husaberg mechanic who's been slaving away in obscurity in the midwest for nearly a decade! :?

Hi Corey,
In recognition of your vast Husaberg achievements I hereby officially present you with........
Bent_Valves.sized.jpg

The prestigious Lineaweaver "Two Bent Valve" award.

As in life, "better to be bent than broke". LOL

You are the real deal in my book Doc!
Keep up the great work.

Sincerely,
Dale

PS
Note the nice color of said award. Quite a runner until the cam chain snapped in the middle of Baja Mexico.

entertainment for sure
dale , as the berger king :D if you were going to buy a husaberg
1, would you go 450, 550, 650 enduro
2, why ?
3 is one stronger / durable than the other ?

in regard to the engine size question , the type of riding terrain would vary .

i started a rugby club in 1987 called the 'old sohamsos' (in england we call people an old so and so) and i come from an infamous village called soham where two girls were tragically killed in 2001) which was just a sunday piss up side.

we had a huge player of the year trophy and awarded it to a player only for another one to wreck it and bend it on the stem.

from then on it was called "the bent player of the year trophy".

depends whether you septics know what bent means in england... otherwise it doesn't carry!

regards

Taffy

So, is the negotiation over?
Are we to the part were they lay the rules down and run for pinks?

Hi Whosaberg,
Personally for general riding I would suggest the 550.

The 550 has (in my opinion) a more favorable bore to stroke ratio (linear power delivery, etc.) then that of the OEM 450 and rarely does one truly benefit from the big punch of a 650 regarding general trail riding as traction becomes an issue.

Hope such has adequately answered your question(s).

Best Regards,
Dale
