:D WELL DALE, I have never seen a 2000 "6000cc" husaberg!

but it will cost you alot!!!

I obviously had a typo. That would be a 2000 "600 cc" Husaberg.
Hand started many of those? The later of course.

Dale

I suppose to make it even more interesting, it's got to have a special Lineaweaver jet kit, X-1 cam, and all decompression devices disabled. :D Said bike could be a challenge to start with a heavy boot much less the hand-o-BOSS

A plain old stock 2000 600 cc Husaberg will do just fine.

With all due respect log, implementing any of the above mentioned would likely enhance starting and consequently decrease my odds of winning any wager against hand starting. :D

Good grief, such a post as yours could almost be taken as an insult.

hot or cold engine....just want some info before the wagering starts! :D

Hi Nsman,

As far as I am concerned:
Either / or as long as said bike has a stock engine, carburetor, electrics and fires on gasoline. :D

Insult?
Nah, I'm just chuckling about how you began by saying you'd pay to see anyone including comic book heroes hand-start a pre-kokusan Husaberg only to later specify a particular year and cc.
Maybe just a little Lineaweaver back-peddle? :D I hope you have some good blues play'in cause it's no fun losing money!

I don't know if I could handstart a Honda 50 so I was truly impressed when Rick dropped by my shop a few years ago and proceeded to hand-start my bike after making some jetting changes. Yes, the motor was warm, but still! 8O

I later saw him up at his shop hand-start an 01 or 02 650 before handing it over to a client. I've tried it, but having a bum shoulder is an excuse I can live with.

Log

"Lineaweaver Back peddle". Yet another jab.

Facts in order:
(1) You stated Rick Bozarth Hand Started a Husaberg.

(2) I then stated "I would pay to see anyone (including comic book heros) hand start a pre kokusan Husaberg"

(3) Rick asked how much I would pay.

(4) I then responded with "Stock 2000 600 cc Husaberg. Dellorto Carburetor and SEM Ignition System. How much to display such an event?"

Fact:
The year and model dictate the odds. I simply asked a specific question in order to evaluate my odds of winning or losing a wager.

Now, how do you get "Back Peddle" from any of the above?

I am not feeling much love these days. :?

Dale

correct... establishing the rules cannot be confused with the "backpeddle".Usually the "backpeddle" is attempted after the rules have been established.
The question is not if or when the BOSS has handstarted a berg, the question is will he do it at the moment of the most financial gain.

Bingo!

So true.

However, when someone says, "any pre-kokusan Husaberg" followed two posts later by "2000 600cc Husaberg" it is truly a backpeddle. "Any pre-kokusan Husaberg" was established.

Kind of like saying, "any pre-2000 motorcycle" in one post, then later saying, "it has to be a 1972 Honda sl 125".

I call it like I see it boys, and I see a back-peddle! :D

Now what's the title of this thread? I somehow feel bad that it's gone so far from the positive way it began. Such is the internet.

OK but BOSS accepted the 600cc by his reply "it will cost a lot"....I just want somebody to handstart a berg :D

May I be so bold as to suggest you re-read the entire thread Mr. Log.

When Rick asked how much I would pay to witness such an event I simply felt it necessary to establish ground rules. I mean, I could most likely hand start a Kokusan equipped 350 in a proper state of tune.

I hardly find such precautions to be back peddling. Rick is of a fairly good cut from what I gather. To not establish displacement rules would simply be foolish on my part.

I truly do not care what year providing said bike is of reasonable displacement and equipped with an OEM SEM Ignition and Dellorto carburetor.

As I stated earlier, such is a no lose situation for me as the worse case scenario is that I will have learned something. :)

Mr. log You stated:
"Now what's the title of this thread? I somehow feel bad that it's gone so far from the positive way it began". "Such is the internet".

Is it? If so, Why?
From me you get the same be it in person or from behind a keyboard.

Like I said, not feeling much love these days.

How soon they forget. :?

Dale

I think anyone (stranded in the desert, 50 miles from water or medical care, with two broken legs, or just out of cigarettes) could hand=start a Husaberg. I want to see the REAL MAN who can pull a crank pin out with his teeth! 8O

Where were you guys when I was at Hatfield McCoy? Mine isn`t a 600 but a 501. Anybody who tried to start that bike knew it was a bear. The best I can do now with mine starting wise is with work boots and a milkcrate ( to close to the ground or the bike to tall ). On a side note I used to own a BSA 650 that I could start with my hand. This is interesting.

Log,

I just took a quick peek at your homepage and opened up the slide show. Are all of the furnishings done by yourself? That is some handy wood work, probably the best i've seen. I really like the merging of the various woods and how they compliment one another. Very nice indeed.

Regards,

I think dale and Rick are gifted berg doctors, I am fortunate to have rick close unenough to help....and those close to Dale ought to feel the same way....so why don't both you testosterone laden brutes come out to Canby OR so i can smoke both of ya's in a race that is....cuz I'm a super hero !!!

someone for crying out loud put a lock on this thread before i eat the furniture...

i don't know what you two have got going on but someone has to stop this childish behaviour. don't come down to 'their' level dale. just keep it in the stratosphere where you been for all the time i've been at UHE.

boss just loves this stuff you can tell but it's all so corrosive...

:D Of course Dale lineaweaver knows his stuff.

And so do alot of the people on the site, thats why we visit.

No Taffy i don't like the bickering & finger pointing.

someone said something factual & someone dissagrees.

But i do like the odds on starting lefrog's bike since dale just

finished with it, & even froggy said it kicked as easy as a 125!

I think i'll go to one of the force rides were there are lot's

of berg's & show a few moore people it is easy!
