I added the new Cyclops H4 3800 lumen light bulb to my KTM b20ad style headlight on my 390.

3800 Lumen H4 LED Headlight bulb

The headlight is a common one from 2008-2013 on most KTM bikes and sometimes appeared on the 70 deg Husabergs. you can also get them on Ebay if you search for "KTM headlight." There are some $37 knockoffs that are replicas. This has to be the best option for a cheap lighting upgrade by a very long shot. Your money goes a very long ways to the amount and quality of light you get. Very impressed.

Next to 55W HID and stock headlight bulb. Build quality is a 10.

take stock bulb socket and grind down the back like this

Next hog it out to fit the Cyclops bulb bushing, and cut the wings off the bushing

Cyclops HI - very nice pattern especially for off road. Good mix of spill/throw.

Stock KTM b20ad headlight LOW.. Might as well be a candle

55W HID LOW

55W HID HI - Notice how you cannot see the fence on the left at all. Although the HID does throw fairly well the spill is almost nonexistent. Made for difficult peripheral and corner vision.

Cyclops Penetrator 630 Light Bar. Throw monster.

wow, that's very sweet ... finally the price on LEDs is right!

Wonder if there are as good H3 bulbs out there - I see now that they're available at least, need to research the quality. I want a number-plate + dual-projector light so bad, here's one for the DR-Z:

edit - hope this isn't threadjacky but this is to be the source of the twin projectors, a Sachs MadAss headlight, plus a generic number plate:

I think lights like those with H3 bulbs wouldn't have enough room for the heatsink on the bulb.. not 100% sure though. He sells an H7 bulb though, might work with some sort of projector. You want to consider the weight of a projector setup like that, by the way. I ran a 3" projector on my Husaberg for a while... worked well, but weighed a friggen ton. I noticed quite a difference in handling when I took it off in favor of the KTM style headlight. The Cyclops stuff is really really high quality, I like it more than Baja Designs (I had their Squadron on my WR450)

You could run his Penetrator light bar with a number plate. stupid bright and only takes 30W. I run it on my YZ450 Snowbike

55W HID Projector I had before (was not as bright as the Cyclops H4 bulb)

next to Baja Designs Squadron

I will do something similar on my motard and change to a H4 bright bulb. The big benefit of doing that is that it work much better in traffic. Different "good" solutions are not viable on the road.

On my enduro I installed two vision-x and an IQ-170 controller. It is acceptable on road but not legal.

... do you reckon the bulb can be made to fit the "other" 70-deg headlight mask? the one that's in the promo photos:

I think this will fit also,
Very cheap, 3000 Lumen.

New CREE H4 9003 1pc LED 30W 6000 K Lumen Head Light Lamp | eBay

I wouldn't bother with the Ebay units.. I have an LED light bar that came from ebay on my buddy bike.. only a few rides on it and it has already fogged up. Not to mention it fails to put out as many lumen as it claims and the color is a hint of blue compared to my Cyclops light bar. The Cyclops bulb is a really good deal for what you get, and there is no guessing as to whether or not you get a winner of a light just to save $30.

I just got the H4 3800 (#cil-ledmd-h4) kit for my 2010 390. I see that the plastic needs to be modofied, but nobody mentions getting the connectors swapped out to work with the stock wiring. What are folks doing for that?

EDIT: Looks like the hot tip is to grind down the connectors on the Cyclops to fit the narrow spade connectors from the 'Berg. Cyclops promises that you cannot blow up their light with incorrect polarity, so you can start with the H$ diagram shown in their FAQ section

How does the OEM low / high work with this? Isn't the stock setup two separate bulbs? The low beam on the right side of the housing?

That light bar looks realy good are there multiple modes in brightness ?
(suited for public road use without blinding oncoming traffic)

I have the blackbird plastics on my 10 450 FE

Just ordered this light

Anything is better then the stock lighting.

Finished my install, much better lighting then stock.

Tips.

For wiring don't use pictures OP posted.

H4 3 prong plug facing you, with 3rd horizontal prong up top and parallel prongs right and left

The Left tab is the brown wire ground. The horizontal tab up top is low beam and right tab is blue for high beam.

I also removed the cut off shields for better lighting. This reflector sucks for light spread and you need all the light you can get.

Sounds like folks are just modifying the spade connectors to be a direct plug in solution. I take it you didn't do this? Is there a reason why?

In 2 minutes with a dremel and the small cut off wheel, and yes just trim down the spades on the H4 kit.

Because the stock female wire connectors are smaller then the male spade part included in the kit.

I can actually see at night now. Before stock it was dangerous at best.

Its not a direct plug in solution as far as installing the bulb.

You have to modify the housing as shown in the OP.

Side note, take off the pre installed cut off shields. No need for them. [not shown in OP]
