i've done this last night and it was quite easy.
i removed the battery and holder, starter and solenoid. all i had to do was disconnect a two-pin connector from the solenoid and that was it.
i pulled the sprague and idler gear out the side as well as putting a factory bung in.
things to look for;
1) when dropping the bike on it's right side to remove your clutch etc try not to look shocked as your entire oil contents somehow manages to somehow travel upwards and sit in the electric starter motor recess in the engine. it now relocates to the workshop floor.
2) the two screw holes that hold the bracket upon which the starter motor sits; these threaded holes open up into the gearbox area. replace with 10mm long M6 screws x 2 to seal.
MYTH
the kill button still works fine.
MYTH
the ignition key still turns it all on and off!
a doddle!
