Just in case any of the Icelandics pass through, I'd like to ask their advice.

I'm thinking about a long weekend in Iceland, to take my other half for her birthday, later in June. Being close to mid-summer is probably a good thing.

Could you guys recommend places to stay and visit, including any must dos while we're there?

Any input would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Simon

I was in Iceland a couple of years ago! Definately not your everyday scenery, you might aswell be on mars.

One thing my friend did was to hire/be driven on a glacier in a huge F350 truck with balloon tyres (which are everywhere). It was a full day trip and he raved about how fun it was...Although, that would be more a male orientated thing to do (don't know if the missus would enjoy it that much).

My missus loved the 4 hours we spent at the Blue Lagoon (thermal baths near airport).

Whatever you do, don't work out how much anything costs, you'll be homicidal!

Dear Simon.

As you perhaps know, I am an Icelander. I will be more than happy to assist you in any way possible. I have connections regarding hotels and of course dirt bikes to ride, both trial and enduro bikes. I know some bloddy fantastic trailes with breathtaking scenery.
I can also give you tips on what to do.

By all means, send me an e-mail,[email protected] or [email protected]

Best,

Yeah, contact Heimir, I will vouch for him here. But should he pick you up from the airport; don't say you will put on your Husaberg cap if you don't find each other soon. I did and people started to wonder why I had that cap on as it was pretty warm inside (in the mean he was talking to someone and already recognized me when I came in :D )
