Thanks Guys! Awesome day on the bike today. I did about 500KM with a mate; riding around the coast of the NZ's north... the bike was a treat.. didn't miss a beat and my mate was struggling to keep up on his 1000cc bike :D here's a few pics...

Jon, perhaps said dealer was hoping for another visit and another paycheck? Ha ha!
 
Yeah... just lazy more than anything I think. Its the general attitude to service down here in NZ; not malicous - just C.B.F.

So, I can see why the USA dealer left the plug in the overflow - it's part of a whole network of pipes etc that were still connected to the carbon canister system in the rear fender... I thought (had been told) this was de-smoged (ECU adjusted and reed valve thingy taken off) - but I guess they only did part of the job.

I ripped out all that stuff yesterday and put a tank cap valve on instead... Job done.

Starts a whole *****-load easier now too... Why was all that crap ever a good idea?! :unsure: Without getting too political, that seems like a ridiculous emissions law...
