Never had the bike. Got this engine as an extra engine with my bike.

There is a scribed number on the 2 case halves and the head that ends with a -01. My 2003 has the same thing but it is a -03.

Hi Gerg

That's not the engine number :) if you search in your engine you will find a couple of hand written numbers.

Check in the right hand casing bellow the head.

took a few hours fiddling to get the bike balanced after servicing the shock

the bumps are over a foot deep. hardly notice them when its setup nicely. one click on any adjuster is enough to screw it up

bit hard to tell from the vid really I guess I should have made a video of what it looks like unbalanced.....

Very good. Got this sedentary computer-man's heart rate up a bit!

I can't read it after 1/2 throttle :D , maybe on the beach with less roos and bumps

need to get a tach adaptor to send a 12v signal to it so I can log RPM vs TPS and AFR then I don't need to look at it at all.

interesting blue numbers, it goes a bit lean cracking the throttle under load from 1/4 to 3/4 throttle, after the initial crack it comes back down, prolly need to add some more squirt, everything else seems to be reasonably predictable.
 
It is a great idea, I have an Innovate one sitting here, for years but I could not
bring myself to cutting a hole in the Acropovic though:eek:

Not running the acc pump so without it not sure how I would get around that lean spot.

What are you going to use to log the data on?
 
the WEGO III has a data logger inside, it just needs a switched 12v input for the tach signal like you would find on a roadbike and logs this with a 0-5v input (TPS or MAP) vs the AFR

bit expensive :D i didn't buy this one it was my brothers Hayabusa tool

I checked the Innovate site they look good, fairly cheap as well, they seem to use the same 5 wire bosch O2 sensor.

I guess you could make a "sniffer" for yours ?

the transient lean spot is a bit of a bummer.. . I don't really want my AFR going to 15:1 with the TPS advance and a bit of load... sounds like a big end disaster to me :eek:
 
so i disconnected the AP squirt and fiddled with stuff till I was nearly happy then added squirt back in

found that for up to about 10 -15 second blasts the slightest change in even a minimal squirt has the same effect on overall AF ratio as the main jet.

i have mine set at 0.3mm total movement and less than a second duration but it still richens everything up across the board as about a "5" change in the main you wouldn't think it possible :D
 
Interesting Bushie, think I will have to reconnect mine with the lighter
crank mass to get over stalling situation possibly.
 
Ok then, I though it was only spost to squirt from closed throttle.

If richening up "across the board", then it must be squirting when you add more throttle.

I sold my carb that dale jetted, and am trying to get this other one setup. It's got a

Nevermind, I'll start another jetting thread as I didnt see one that adressed high elevation.
 
definately not squirting after the initial momentary input

is very odd though. perhaps filling in the lean gap means the whole setup works more efficiently and smoothly rather than playing catchup.
