Bridgestone rear tire width

Just found out the hard way that a BT-090 rear in 160 width does not fit the '05 FS model, even with a 5 inch rim.
I tried to trim down the edge due to chain rub and swingarm interference, but screwed up the bargain priced tire in the attempt.

Has anyone fitted a BT-003 in a 160? I'm thinking I'll have to run a 150 because according to their website a 150 is actually 161 mm tread width.

Never had this problem with Michelin or Maxxis...

I had a bridgstone 160 on the rear of my 2005 fs 650e. It rubed on the chain and the swing arm, I bought the bike with that tire on it and left it on for a good 4000kms. I went to a michelin pilot power 150 and love it. no problems with rubbing and better grip.

Had rubbing on the chain so I made this.

Avon Distanzia 160/60-17 & a 5" rim with o-ring chain, no rub anymore. Also put a good chain guard on the back that keeps the chain off the tire on the bottom.

The 160 pilot power was a lot narrower, and didn't rub.

I have the 150 bt003rs love them no rubbing. They grip lots better than the dunlops alpha 10's i had.
