Brand New 390 dying!! Help

The fuel filter is inside the tank, attached to the fuel pump. If you take your seat off, you can see the fuel pump right behind where the air filter is.

Thanks for following through, and keeping us posted to what appears to be the happy conclusion of your drama. In the past there have been folks who come to this site with problems, they get answers from the community and we never hear from them again about the problem.

Looking at your pictures it looks like sugar. But your description makes it sound like something else. If you still have the material, keep some, and perhaps you could send some out to a lab that tests motor oils or something to see what it is. That is of course if Husaberg is not doing the same. If it's a factory thing, sounds like a little bling should come your way for your trouble.

And a big hats off to your dealer for making the drives to and from your house to try and make it right.

Bike works fine now. Rode for 3 hours this am, tight woods, No problem. Finally!
Thanks for all the help.

This is good, at least now you can get on with enjoying the machine.... And leave all those troubles behind...

Congrats, it seems the problem is solved. All misery will be forgotten soon after some fantactic riding.

Looking at the photo you posted I thought it could be silicon gel. The stuff that comes with all kinds of (electronic) products that need to stay dry.
Perhaps a "monday morning" problem at the assembly line?

Happy safe riding!

Just heard back from the Husaberg North America Tech and the dealer who had the problem with this 390 was not sure what the material was.

However, this has been an isolated incident as this bike is only bike that they have had this problem with.

I think that the "paper-mache-like goo" was from a dissolved, "Quality-First Inspection Ticket" left behind in the tank ... on Friday .... because Fritz was all excited about Greta coming to town over the weekend.

So glad you found the problem and back running right again!
And yes, I will be pulling my gas tank down in two weeks to check on mine as well. Will report back with results.

Cheers! E-Ticket

Hi guys,

I know this is an old post, but maybe someone still sees my post

I have exactly the same problem with my FE 390. I have read every single comment on this thread and find it to be exactly the same as my problems. However, in my case the dealer is about 6-7 hrs from here.

Can someone guide me as to how to remove the fuel filter to check if it is the same problem?

Thanks

#1 PM the poster who had the problem and get the last couple of digits of his VIN # to see if your bike is close to the production date.

#2. Pull your tank and have a look at the pump pre filter and see if it has the same junk on it.
