other than the gaerne sg12 does anyone know of any other boots that have the facility to move the shin guard around thus allowing my chubby littel calves plus a knee brace to fit?

my current boots, 5 yr old gaerne's, have this, but are now a bit worn having recived a bit of hammering this year

Hey Cypher,
I have a pair of SIDI boots ( don't know the model ) bout 2 year old. They have moveable shin and inner calf guards as well as the best feature in any boot I've ever owned.. AN ANKLE PIVOT!!!!
So comfortable from the very first ride in them.

Mat

cheers,

found out about the sidi yesterday on another forum. maybe going to try a pair today.
the current model is the sidi crossfire.
nice thing is they're about £100 cheaper than the gaerne's

also going to be trying a leatt neck brace.

well tried some crossfire's yesterday and was gutted as they are a real nice boot but even the 46 size, im usually 44/45, on full adjustment wasn't enough ro fit my calf plus brace, so left them.

they only have about 20mm of adjustment of the shin plate where as my old gaernes have at least double that.

did pickup a leatt brace though so now have that to play with.

sg12 and core boots to try next and the dealers did say have a go with some tech 7's or tech 3's that they've ordered for the larger calved amongst their clientel in the past, so boot trying it is this week.

I got a new pair of SiDi Crossfire boots awhile back and yes they are comfortable. I also see a hole lot more adjustment then 20mm, more like 80mm on the top buckle 40mm on the second from the top. I got stuck in a swamp yesterday and they prefromed beautifuly. Waterproof and agial on slippery rocks, logs and 1 foot of black mud, all in ice cold running water. They are just a pain in the *** to put on. All my fingernail ceudicles are real sore and pushed all the way up from putting those boots on everyday
Maybe there are longer adjustment strapps. I just looked at mine again and theres alot of room. Size 44

yeah, its not the buckle adjustment.

have alook at the inside of your shin guards you can actually unbolt the shin guard and move it around. The problem i had was even with the shin guard at max the shin guard wasnt overlaping with the side of the boot.

the sidi has about 20mm of SHIN guard adjustment. my current 5 yr old gaernes have about 57mm ( i went out and measured it) and they are maxed out.
