RE: Re: Big Fuel Tank

I spoke to a rep from Clarke this evening and they are in final production stages for the extra capacity Husaberg tank. They showed me a picture and it looks pretty good! Said it will be finished in a week or less.

RE: Re: Big Fuel Tank

Going to Island in August and thought of using the Husaberg, anyone knows of a big tank like the KTM or will the KTM fit with some modification (I know putting an orange tank on the husa hearts). Needs approx 23 litres to be able to get through the different trips.
Husaber did very good in VM this week end at my home town Ljugren won EJ and Björne 2nd in E3 class, missing David Knigt which was very fast last year.

RE: Re: Big Fuel Tank

Hi All
I just like to ask some one that has a Husaberg about their reliability, I like what I read in the bike magazines, but all the bike shop are telling me to stay clear of them , is it true that you have to change something to do with what makes the spark happen every 20 hour or so can you give me so idea on their reliability please

RE: Re: Big Fuel Tank

Just got my fancy new Natural 4 gallon fuel tank. Gotta say, my compliments to the chef.

I went with the Natural color and am very happy with my decision. I haven't went on a real trail ride with it yet. However, initially I like the feel of the tank. IMO the feel isn't much different then the stock tank.

RE: Re: Big Fuel Tank

Thank Taffy
yes the answer seem jibberish I just read some of the other replys about starter motors playing up and over heating and a few other problems they have , I still would like to know more about them and the only way to know these things is to ask the people that own one for a few years, they seem like a fun bike to ride but not if you have your hand in your pocket all the time that will take the fun out of it

RE: Re: Big Fuel Tank

but they don't have any reoccuring faults or 'common faults' as they are known. to this day, if you use the starter motor all tyhe time on a husey you will wear out the starter sprague bearing.

nobody in europe has overheating issues, however the occasional waterpump seal still gets nipped byt the owner. that isn't the bikes fault though - it's the owners problem.

we have many members here who only contact the site when they have a problem but that also means that for the rest of the time they are very happy with their steeds.

that's normal. the main point he's telling you is to post a new thread with your questions, instead of putting them in the 'big fuel tank' thread, unless you have a question about the big tank. if you start a new thread, i'll tell you about my experience with my 05 fe550 (purchase new in feb 06), which is still pretty new, only 180 hours on it (3800 miles, all offroad).

RE: Re: Big Fuel Tank

I took my FS650 for an MOT yesterday and it passed. BTW that's a compulsory test in the UK before you can start to get the bike on the road not a type of female anatomy. I got it done at a local KTM dealer who used to sell Bergs. Mine was lined up with the KTMs and to be honest I much preferred the Berg's lines. Now back to fuel tanks...there were a number of these 960/990 orange things in the shop and it looked like these had massive fuel tanks which projected down towards the front forks. So I suppose KTM are making big tanks for these models and I wouldn't expect they would sell a lot of these bikes at £8900 each! The other thing is why don't KTM shops appear to sell Bergs as well? But I suppose that's the subject of an earlier thread.
