Axial clearance measured and it has 0.40mm clearance without gasket glue or whatever its named(permatex supra copper) between the blocks. Repair manual says 0.45mm-0.55mm. Good enough? or do I have to buy new bearing and add thinner shim?

no it isn't good enough. to lose 0.20mm would be your ambition.

Thx for reply but may I ask why? It has completely new bearings, new rod, balanced crank in specs. I put 0.20mm shims to right side whereas manual told to put 0.10mm+0.15mm shims so total 0.25mm. Also added 0.20mm shim to balancer side as manual said so. If I have to change the clearance I'll need to buy new special tool or new main bearing.

And I forgot, bike is going on streets (traffic vehicle) so it has no such revs as in motocross etc.

well I don't put any in. if I've got it right I carry on the rebuild. If I've got it wrong I have to strip it all down again and add a shim. I don't add shims.

your X factor is the width of the crank. one man will press the crank to 59.9mm wide and another to 60.1mm wide.

Alright so I have to take it somewhere to rip that inner ring off/buy a special tool/buy a new bearing and change the clearence. Thank you for your answer. Every day can learn something new
