I was wandering if there is any rims from other bikes that coud be adapted to a 95 fe501e inverted forks. Second hand japanise parts are cheap and easy to find.
I want to keep my off road rims to have them with dual purpose tires (lovely metz).
also I'm looking for a big gas tank, the bigest you can find. yes I like endurance trips I have done it with other bikes bmw and honda xr/ spain and moroco and want to check waht husaberg is up to.

what fits a husey fits a ktm so look to orange for inspiration if needs be.

really cheap SM starts at a 17" front rim and respoked. how cheap therefore is cheap?

spare wheels seem to be the way to go but remember that up to and including '02 the bikes had a small axle pin up front and then katoom and husey stuff became interchangable from '03 model on.

as for a big tank-stick a heat gun on it and blow it out with an air line. worth two litres.

regards

Taffy

Drz 400 rear wheel fits husaberg 03 as well, know this as i had 1 lying around when i had my fe400 and it slipped straight in there, once turned around of course? May help if suzuki road wheels were to fit drz400 ??

thanks gearweely, I will check if other suzu weels fit on drz(only back weel you said?)
for now I will stick some metz dual or do you guys know somthing better in the road.
thanks taffy ill try it even do I would like something like a galong and 1/2 or two galongs more.
tomorrow I'll go to pick the bike up up state pennsylvania and start to work on it.

I just run into a wp website and se that wp 4054 forks that my 95 husaberg uses are available for harleys mmmmm....
I wander if I can find a 17 wheel taht fits in a harley shop???
any thoughts.

also I found this on ebay:

Set of supermoto wheels, 17x4.25 rear, 17x3.5 front, KTM factory brand, made in Germany by Behr. Includes NEW, never been ridden Pirelli MT60RS tires. 320mm front brake disk. Here's how they are currently set-up,(although with spacer changes, they might be able to be used on other bikes as well, but I do not have any specific info on that). This set up can be used, unmodifed, on KTM 640 LC4's with the conventional fork

will it wouk my 95 husaberg I found taht the husabergs up to 96 front end is interchageable wiht ktm1990 to 94 and lc4 95?

can I instal a 18' rear rim at the front and resproked it they are boht 36 sprokets. that would give me 18 front 18 rear . Any one have try that?

See several threads from a while back about using cast road bike wheels off Jap bikes. Check my gallery (link below) for pix of mine.

Hi bundybear,
taht's cool.
then waht it fits?
also my bike has inverted forks.
so I have to research and try myself , I wish I own a bike junk yard so to make the lives of tthe people behind me easer, but taht's not the case.

Stick with deals on used KTM set ups.... 17" .....................501 makes a very good SM bike......like suggested on another thread look through the KTM hard parts get an Idea of which parts you need and then look for deals......

The spoked wheels do look better and are absolutly necessary if you want to compete or even just give them a flogging. If you can get some for a good price they are probably the way to go. You can fit up the tyres tubeless on the cast wheels if that is worth anything.

I went on a trip on my Bitsaberg with about ten other blokes on nice new, bright, shiny, polished up road bikes the other day. The friend I hooked up on the ride with was on a brand new Cagiva Navigator 1000 dirt/road thingy. I ended up feeling like the member every family has that no-one ever talks about. :(

About half way thru the day my mate on the Navigator & I split off & went our own way down some very windey back roads thru magnificent hilly country. It even included about 100km of twisty gravel road. That kind of riding is where the motard is absolutely brilliant! :D It did as well as the Cagiva on the bitumen and was easier to manage in the gravel.

We did about 450km for the whole day, but the last half was the most enjoyable, even with the saddlesore butt that had developed by then.

Needless to say, if you want to impress people, the modified '95 probably won't do the job. If you want to have fun, see some countyside & to hell with 'em then it certainly will. Best of luck.

thanks Brad.
don't misunderstand me my only consern right now is my limited budget.
I yust want to have fun and use the berg as a commuter.
I personally don't care about how it looks the thing is $700 or $800 for a 17 set is a bit much for me right now so I have to find something cheap or install good metz 90/90-21M/C 110/80-18M/C 58S ENDURO4.
the tourrance doesn't came in 18.
any other recomendations.
I was thinking on go to bike yunkyard and try to buy some 17's taht feets but nobody seem to be poor and try it yet.

When I looked at it the cheapest I could find was to use cast road bike wheels. My rear is off a Suzuki RGV250, the front is off Yamaha FZX250. Check Vegard's gallery. He has pics of his bike with both RGV250 wheels on it. There is also another that has 18" cast wheels but I can't remember who. Try searching through the Forums section to find more info.

My wheels cost AU$600, equivalent to about US$430 here, including brake disks, tyres and sprocket. Both brake calipers are the original Husaberg Brembo units. This means you can change wheels without disconnecting the brake hoses.

If it helps I can draw up the axle spacers and front brake caliper adapter that I made for my wheels so you can machine them up.

I have since picked up a pair of Honda CBR250 wheels for AU$170 (US$120), complete with front brake calipers & forks. The bloke who sold them had backed his farm tractor over his brand-new road bike and squished it through the middle! :(

you really got in the target, I can get cheap used parts here.
I can machine the spacers and caliper adapter if you draw it for me.
thanks Brad.
Are you in Australia?
I imagine taht's the paradise rider here in the east coast I feel a bit claustrophobic.

I've done a drawing of the RGV rear wheel spacers, but I can't post it till next week. Will get to it.

The parts on the FZX250 (I think they also call it a "Zeal") front wheel may take a bit longer - I'll have to pull it to bits. I'm not sure if that wheel is easy to get in your part of the world. The rim is 1/4" narrower at 2.75" wide than the RGV front, but since it was only made for a single disc, it looks tidier than the twin disc RGV wheel with one left off. I have not found the rim width to be an issue with a 120 wide tyre.

I havent find fzx here in the us, I've read in a treat where taffy was at aloso, taht kawa 500ex eliminator fits stright and I'm try to find one , I found a ex500 rim taht is a 16 rim but not 100% shure it wil fit.
also I have find a set from a suzuki gs 500e tahts cheap and looks grat but dont know if it is right to get taht adventorous since I dont know how they are going to fit I have the part numbers for the gs500 so it could be compared to a rgv they may be the same.
thanks brad hopefuly I will be riding soon.

A 190 wide tyre should be a bit too wide to allow the correct distance between the wheel centreline and the chain sprocket. The edge of both a 165/55 and a 160/60 tyre just kisses the chain on my 4.5" wide back wheel rim.

hey bundybear check this tire chart :
http://www.dropbears.com/u/utilities/tyrerim.htm
also I just bought a 2.75 rear rim out of an old husqvarna could use it for the front?
I'm still triyng to find rgv tires.(taffy)
I just finish fixing the electrical system and change oil fixing gas tranfer pump and tune the carburator ir is rumm rrumm like a kiting now. the last owner was ooo! a chump if you guys could see waht get out when I change the oil it was like a black petroleum I have to flush it with some cheap mobil one to put the amzoil?? on it.
I almost re wire evrything cables where conected in stright short!! well everything is fine now after two days of work.
probably out of topic but the timing chain sems to sound a bit , how do i check that the tensioner chain is in good condition.
It is my first husaberg and never hear any running before so I dont have a reference of how it should sound.

....some cheap mobil one....
Over here Mobil 1 is about as expensive as you can get??? I wonder if it is the same stuff as you get?

Thanks for the tyre list. Are you confident it is right? Some of the tyres sound waay too big for the rims. If it is right, I feel more confident having a 120/70 on a 2.75" rim.
