I regulary ride at Mac Park here in Mt G. Ride days are usually on 4th Saturday each month approx cost $100 for the day

Hey guys, if you haven't already, stick your ride & location in your nic. It helps with letting us know what you ride & where without having to ask every post. Also helps find other retribates in your area to ride with :lol: Me & Popup go on regular rides & many an hour is spent drinking the "Rum of Wisdom" talking $hit about the almighty berg. Just good value. :wink:

Hey Aussie boys, am very keen on getting a '10 Berg although not sure which yet. My current ride is a Husky TE610 which i have swapped over to motard form for most of my riding although i am keen on hitting the dirt more often.
A few questions on the '10 Bergs.
I have heard they are SOHC. Does that mean they don't need oil changes a much as a WR450, generally speaking?
What are the requirements for warranty?
I live in Cairns and the closest dealer is 4 hours away. Am i wise to buy a Berg?
What are they retailing for $$$?
Would love to get a FE and buy the 17" SM wheels to swap over, like i have with my Husky, although after buying a new bike i don't expect to have the money for the wheels

I'm sure there's a Berg dealer in Townsville or somewhere up that way. Normally you take it back into them after 1.5 hrs (they come with run-in oil in them so no longer than 1.5hrs) & at 10hrs to make sure everything is all good. Husky's have a longer warranty period I think but it's only as good as the dealer who supports it & I dont think there's a husky dealer up that way.
Get the FE & save for some 17" rims. Search Cyphers posts, he did a motard conversion on the cheap. If you're only going to street with the 17" rims the suspension wont be too far off the mark as the FS is setup like a brick.

I think you will find that your Husky wheels will fit up with minimal changes to a berg, I know the rear will bolt up, just gotta check the front! 26mm axle on the berg, though I have an old set of 20mm wheels with adapters to make it fit my 09
