Has anyone had a problem fitting the Akrapovic header mount plates flush to the head? I have the 2005 FS650C. On mine there is unmachined head casting material between the two machined surfaces where the plates would (should??) mount flush. This casting material contacts both the plates between the two pipes of the header, creating a loose fit of the header pipes and the head. Is this normal? Or did Akrapovic send me the wrong mount plates?
I planned on grinding flat the head casting material, but don't want to create a bigger headache if it will effect fitment down stream.
Any help would be much appreciated.
