Acerbis rear mudflap / inner fender exension

Any body tried one of these??? maybe an aftermarket replacment all along???

Dang nobody?? Would have thought this would have saved a few people some headaches as i have replaced 2 or 3 on my bike and they are always hard to find a decent shaped stock one,

anyway i ordered one we will see how close it is, ill get some photos compared to stock when it arrives...

Got the part, is very nice......

is approximatly 1 cm shorter than stock, same width, you drill your own bolt holes.......i think it would fit 1st generation bikes as well and would just need to get cut down to fit them. 1997-2008 i think is basically a direct replacment, this part fits a ton off other bikes and i think will be a good replacment part for a long time....

I am going to guess by all of the responses i have gotten to this so far either nobody cares or i am the last person to know about these things and nobody wants to burst my bubble.......

yea this is the acerbis replacment lower part that gets hit by the tire, the one i had had some minor wear marks on it from the chain probably because i took off the big ugly chain guard but wasnt really terrible. my original on got ate up by the tire once i change the first tire because i wasnt aware of its slightly different size and i tore one up with ice studs once.... i made the upper aluminum part of the flap so just ignore that for now....

the after market lower part is slightly 'less rounded' (for lack of better words) so a wider tire can fit into it without hitting the edges too, its is the same width and 1/4" shorter.....

I just know in the past two years i ruined 3 of them and always ahd a hard time replacing it till now......

ice studs are easy to fit but time consuming and there are a lot of different kinds, i just got the most commmon type which screws into the tire just like a screw, they stay in the tre surpisingly well. unlike a screw it leaves a sharp hardend part that sticks out (4-10mm depending on the size you get) takes a few hours even with a power drill, but you go around the tire and put in a 1000 or so of these bad boys and then your ready to ride and grip is surprisingly good (except on cement or blacktop then its terrible :lol:and scratches it up like crazy, just ask the front step at my house ), even better grip than on grass or soft ground with a normal nob tire, seems ice riding is hard on the lower mud flap though......eginehardware posted a pic of his ice racebike recently in another thread and i noticed in the pic his lower flap also shredded :lol:

want an example of how good grip is with ice studs? last year i went riding with my buddy who was on a snowmobile (it was old like a 89' 350cc or something weird) and we raced and i won 3 out of 3 times in a 100 yard dash scenario...it wasnt a big fast snowmobile or anything but he was still embarrased :lol:
