A bit off topic, aux. fuel tanks

Entered the Alto Turia rallye in May on a 501. Currently preparing the bike. Fuel is one of the many challenges as longest day is due to be 350kms. There will be fuel en route, but I would prefer to have as much available as possible.

I already have the factory underseat tank adding 2.8l. I was also thinking of adding something on the rear of the bike and notice last years El Chott winner's solution:

Apparently this black wrap around tank is made in Australia, but have had no luck finding out any further information on it. I'm heading off to Australia in a few weeks so could locate one then.

Anyone happen to know anything about it?

Thanks.

More fuel

Just an idea,I have see a fuel tank made out of an old 2 stroke silencer and mounted opposite the stock one under the side panel.

coronaberg: That's certainly something I had never thought of! Could probably look quite trick too if done well with a matching pipe.

44014: Thanks, I knew someone had to know. I'm originally from Brisvegas so will get my spies out looking for one to ship over.

Thanks again.

Now Ross
I needed extra supply of juice when trying to stay on long trails with the 4 strokes, at the time i was on a 2 smoke.
I ordered an acerbis header tank and it clipped into the top of the front forks between the two triple clamps, obviously you loose your light, but it's just a suggestion.
I still have it, if you require any further details.
Best of luck on your rallye.

Thanks Ady.

Unfortunately, the front of the bike is already overloaded with roadbook, ICO and GPS. Adding more weight to the front would make it feel like a goldwing!

Have settled on the factory underseat tank along with a "bum tank" for longer days. I will end up with 16.8 litres all up.

Ok Ross
