92 -> 99 fork switch

Hi,

I am considering a fork switch on my -92 350 because it is getting quite hard to find parts and configuration info for the older forks, and a newer fork is possibly better.
I have the option of buying a fork from a 1999 501 but are not sure how it will fit on my bike, and have some questions that i hope to find the answer to here.

- Will the -99 fork fit on my frame?
- Will the -92 brake caliper fit on the -99 fork?
- Will the -92 wheel and disk fit on the -99 fork?
- Is the -99 fork better in terms of ride quality and/or configuration options?

Thanks for any answer.

hi, 99 models use 50mm wp extreme forks which are not upside down design.
wheel will fit also brake caliper, but you will need the triple clamps also along with the forks.
4054 forks in my opinion feel lighter and i would insist on these instead of the extreme 50mm.

in my 1994 i use 43mm wp 4357 forks with preload adjustement and 2004 clamps and wheel.
you can find on ebay these parts easy

bit tricky to fit but it worths the hassle :wink:
