Looking for feedback on the 2010 FE570 & the 2012 FE501E.
Understanding that the 2012 FE501E is a re-stickered KTM500-EXC I’m still trying to get a clear view in my mind what is a better option. I’ve heard that the FE570 is not for mere mortals given the crazy power that it makes, but I’ve also heard that they are super reliable. Like most earlier Berg owners’ I’m worried about parts for the 70 deg engine in years to come so that is also a factor. For the FE501E there is not much information floating around as to the pros & cons hence why I’m asking what other people have experienced.

They are quite similar in power. A bit more bottom in the 570 and more top in the 500.
It's all up to what you prefer in geometry, there they differ alot. Only way to know is to try.

I have 2 570s and one exc500 home (keep it for a good friend) and drove both a 570 and a 500 this weekend. The better top for the 500 must be the straighter and thicker exhaust. The 570s are very restricted there with the mid pipe all bent and flattened. So it's not as wild as some people think. Both bikes has very linear power as they have injection, so even if they give a lot it comes controlled. The 570 can even feel slower than other bikes even as it pulls away from them.
You have to try both to know what you want.

And it must be a 2013-14 501 as -12 they were still making the 570.
