for your info:

the 2010 models have a new number for the above part. Seems KTM tried to improve the troublesome part.
When available I will buy one.
KTM is updating the dealernet info in this month but it is a slow process, no prices yet available.

Ciao,
Adriaan

My 08 KTM 450EXC-R had the cam chain issue so I bought a Dirt Tricks one from the states - took 4 minutes to do the job & this fixed it!

My 09 FE450 had a similar knocking sound the other day after I fired her up so I thought I might just swap the Dirt Tricks one out of the KTM into the Berg..

Doesn't fit. The standard KTM cam chain tensioner is a larger diameter.

I put the Berg one back in & the noise went away (for now).

Sound´s strange, because they have got the same partnumber (77036003000)

Well having read all of this, i have contacted Dirt Tricks to buy one of theirs. Anybody know if these are stocked in the Dallas area at all?

Oops, what I meant to say earlier was..

When I took the dirt tricks one out of the EXC-R it was a larger diameter than the stock Berg one & didn't fit into the Berg.

LuKe:

After checking the partnumbers: it is the same part number, just as Tholen says.
My idea: perhaps the o-ring wasn't in the right position thus blocking entry of the tensioner. part description says:
Part number Name
77036003000 CHAIN ADJUSTER HYD. 05

The 05 indicates that this part is around since 2005.

Have a look on this website: http://www.jonteengdahl.se/module.asp?XModuleId=23691
Very informative.

had to lay my '09 FE450 on its right side to install the Dirt Tricks tensioner. Otherwise the tensioner extends itself by gravity and will not fit down in the hole. The tensioner hole is much closer to horizontal on KTM's.

To motorcare and LuKe;

in other words, the Dirt Tricks tensioner does fit the 2009 Husabergs
