09 Berg 450 test

Well I finally was able to take a ride on my 09 450.The handling was every thing we have all read about or experienced. It was about 50 degrees out and 8000ft.Hard pack and rocks.I was able to get 20 mi on before the sun went down. The reason for the post is how awesome the EFI works.I have never rode a dirt bike that runs as good as this!It doesn't blubber, pop, anything!I plan on riding it today again. I can't wait! The bike really is impressive and like a typical berg will only get better with time!

devil's advocate

ok, new bike, but how good is it. I found it more powerful than last years 450 but power is not always everything... remember the ktm 400 is back. If you want more power then there is the old 550. So yes it is more powerful and seems a bit more flickable... but are you comparing it to the old berg.

How are you going to deal with electric start only as the sprag clutch will wear and need replacing. How will you work on fuel injection and fuel pump .... will you buy lots of batteries ot make sure you have a good one installed.

OK, I am putting all the negatives because I really liked the feel of the new bike, but how much better is it and will it be harder to work on meaning that you have to take it somewhere more than before.

Comment please, tactful would be nice?!

unfortuantly all the points you raise are only ones that will beanswered over time.

The bit about '...it seems a bit more flickable..' i found rather odd as the handling of the bike is what almost every reviewer, be they Husaberg riders or not, is raving about.

how good did it have to be to impress you?

RE: Re: devil

the thing I find missing from many reviews or perhaps its glazed over with all the twaddle about gyroscoptions and 77 degree cylinder is that the 09 suspension is very different inside and the new berg chassis has a nicer shock angle at the rear and transfers less weight to the front than the conventional approach.

the sussies should not only work much nicer from within but also have less work to do so..........

it ceratinly feels that way, the suspension feels great over the '08's

but most years the new models do feel a bit better, I reckon the '09 feels like its got about 2-3 years worth of feel gap over the '08's

For those that think they should wait to see how reliable the bike is before purchace,
rethink! The new bike runs with little to no strain & gives you absolute confidence!!
330 mi on my 09 450 with not so much as a cough or bog, sputter or other!! We have
entered a new level! Please try to ride one so you can feel the excitement of those
who have had the chance!! I am in a state of comlete awwwwww! Thanks to husaberg's
new creation.
