07 Bergs?

Me ! I'd buy the 550....hold on, I did ! :D Its truly the weapon of choice, at least over here.... the 501 cc berg we have over here just plain rips as well ! If you ever get a chance on riding a new one or conversion try it you will have a big smile when you get off.... I agree with you on the 450...they should have spent more time on the engine to get it to run with the other 450's look at the new KTM 450 EXC, I think its the exc ?...58 hp  over on this side the 450 is by far the biggest class....don't worry Jocke the 450 has got to come back ! :)

No, its the SX that as the new engine...58-59hp claimed...
But gearbox as only 4 ratios and it seems that cases are not prepared to accept 6speed and thats a big NO-NO in my book.

For me a Enduro bike must have allways 6 speed...and wide ratio (i.e. current 450/525 EXC, FE xxx, Sherco 4.5i) and not close ratio (i.e. Husky TE 450/510).

have you spent anytime on the Huskys? That close ratio tranny is sweet, always have two gears that work in any situation and you'll love shifting the bike, not like my wide ratio FE450e that you have to shift and throttle up to stay in the sweet spot, with the Husky close ratio you shift because you want to, with the wide ratio trannys you shift because you have too.

Close ratio rules on the single track!

Thats my problem...my riding areas have both nasty single tracks and real wide open terrain ...even when i was riding the GasGas (which as slightly wider ratios than the Huskys) there was times where i was struggling and wishing to have a 1st gear geared lower and some miles after i was riding in 6th gear with the engine screaming like if there was no tomorrow, then, another single, then another screamer area...i realised finally that what *i* needed for *my* riding areas was a 6 gear wide ratio gearbox and gived up of close ratio bikes....and thats why i also prefer also a bike wih more than 450cc when it has that type of gearbox, so it has more torque and can compensate (?) the wider gaps between gear ratios...in the Hsb range that means FE550.

...and there are people that wants that Hsb modifies its plastics...look what KTM did to the new LC4 690 SM

I make an effort not to cast dispersions against other motorcycle manufacturers, mainly because of what my mother told me. But that's one of the most unattractive motorcycles I've ever seen.

has anyone seen or heard of a date when these bikes will be avail for buying i personal love the new look its allot better than my 98 FC501 that I own right now

We'll have some (five or six bikes) at our dealer show in Oregon, August 11-14. Dealers will have the option of purchasing those demo units. After that, my guess is that our first container will arrive in the middle of September.

Also - I'd sure like to have a dealer in your neighborhood, if you can recommend a good shop.

Cheers,

Brett Saunders

Although I like Boss and G&G, Bill's MC Plus in Salem's a great dealer. At this time, he only does Huskys.

Where in Oregon, will the dealers show be at?

those changes sound pretty good, sounds like the bike will fix up most recent complaints....why only the 550 getting the new crank case though??

Britt, the dealer show is for dealers only - it will be in Bend Oregon, August 11-14, 2006.

Will any of the '07 FE's, specifically FE550's :D, be coming to the US in Euro trim (switchgear, signals, horn, etc.)? Not quite the same as street legal, but it would make it easy for those of us in states where registration is not difficult. Just a suggestion . Thanks

Todd
