Since KTM changed the frame geometry
on the 05 Husabergs I hope it was an
improvement.I could use a little quicker
steering, but not at the expense of stability.
European bikes for years had a stable although
a slower steering setup. Then KTM went on the
search for quicker steering to compete with
the Japanese and ended up similar to Suzuki's
handling.Lazer steering with some headshake
issues.I still like the stability of the Husabergs
and Husqvarnas. The only KTMs I would consider
are the two strokes.
Of the Japanese bikes Honda usually hit a balance
I liked best.
Hopefully the 05 WP suspension units have improved,
this is one area I would like to see some improvement.

No apoligies are required. Your posts are very informative. Your grasp of the english language is amazing considering it is a second language for you! I thoroughly enjoy reading them as I am sure others here do too.

Hirbman...
I appreciate the info but here is how I look at it... We all would aree that Husaberg is a very well made bike.. I have had many Ford vehicles in my life and at one time we had two of the exact same models, one for me and one for my wife. My vehicle ended up in the shop almost every other week, transmission, dash lights, ignition safety switch, cracked exauhst manifold, front end differential went out, and the list goes on... My Wife's on the other hand had zero problems.. Bottom line is that sometimes you just get a product that will cause you problems, it is the "luck of the drawl" if you will.... I would imagine I could get an 03 and have zero problems, but then again could have many?

Hey Corey, maybe you are just too hard on your vehicles :p :D

Thanks husabutt,

nice to hear that.
Corey, I want to say one more sentence:

It´s right what you say, but it can also be that the one rider uses the bike in a softer way and the other one rides it hard.
So it has always to do under what condition the bike is ridden. But according to that the material must stand firm even under hard condition. Do you agree?
You can be sure that me and my friends are kind of test riders. We test the material, if it is stable it will last for a long time at other riders´ bikes . May that be the reason why I can list so much things which were broken.
Does that also mean that there are not too many people in the world who do ride their 03 models bit harder than others do? Maybe only a few Husaberg riders have got a connection to the internet..
I don´t know. And it doesn´t matter.
You can believe me I´m very happy that even with my riding behavior only a few little things were broken and not the expensive ones. :D

So, now I´m going on a ride, having some fun on a fun MX event today,
this evening I will have a look about new topics

greetings

Hi twistthethrottle,

Under point 5 I meant the decal kit as I said "design". And the bearings, the voltage regulator, the wiring, the magnetic plug and the clutchhub were definetly changed in 03!!

hribman

I guess I must be unfortunate. My 03 FE501 doesn't have those changes!

Hi twistthethrottle,

that´ s surprising. Have you disassembled your engine?
Maybe you´ ve got an early 03 model.?!
Take a look into the parts manual, there you´ll see that it´s
official what I was talking about.

greetings

hribman
