bling of interest

I had never heard of Texaleum, so I did a search... "Texalium is a reinforced material based on glass fabrics. Aluminum is applied through a special treatment of the glass fabric. Through this special treatment you get a unique and shiny surface."

Interesting. I kinda like the look, but I'm not sure how tough it is. I didn't see a price, but I'm guessing it ain't cheap. Nice find.

Fellow Bergsters,
Schleenbecker-Moto is my dealer and I'll visitit him next
Saturday. Saw a carbonfibre early prototype of this special
SuperMoto tank a few month ago. Courious to see (and test) :)
the Texaleum one live.

Well, yes this pure race-tank looks is not that elegant but form
follows function. Check out the super slim design.

I'll ask for the price... I'm sure i'ts a hand-crafted limited edition,
maybe build on request only. So be prepared.... 8O

I know where the (Carbon fibre) prototype is 8)

Unfortunately I crashed this summer and cracked it on the right side and the threds for the filler cap was smashed away. I have a friend who races an Aprilia 250 RoadRace bike that is almost entirely built in C/F and magnesium. I'll let him have a go at the tank and see what comes out of it. The restoration will include modifications so I can fit the 06 shrouds.
