husaberg fs 570 "project"

the alpina story continues...
Ask me 6 months ago best mod on this bike I would say the alpina's but after this the worst I am so dissapointed:unsure:
So yesterday I had the time to open the box with the wheel in it...
I see a big chunk missing on top of the side of the rim.
The carbon cracked and is coming loose over an area 10cm long you can feel it sliding your finger against the side of the rim you can even see it.
This means my wheel is written of and waited for 3 months spending a total around 800 on hubs/labour/shipping for nothing:furious:
Now I have to proof this damage is new and see if shipping company or alpina will refund me or something if the wheel was written of I wouldnt send it to get a new hub in it costing 400 wouldn't I:rolleyes:
I dont get how this damage happened the wheels are strong I do'nt think this could happen even if you throw the box around with the wheel in it:(

I been very busy emailing/contacting people and the alpina distributor uk brought me in touch with someone in uk who has repaired many of these carbon rim's.
He says my rim can be repaired it wil just cost me some extra money/time after 3 months wat is an extra 1/2 months:p

I am also sending my front to replace the seals around the spokes my wheels should come back good as new atleast I realy hope so this time!
I don't think anyone will take responisbility for this sadly, but paying some money to repair it/wait is better than paying a lot to get another rim that is heavier/with tube or getting an alu alpina rim spoked instead IMO.

Patience keep calm keep spending money in the end everything will be ok lol

Did my first trackday with the metzelers great tyres but I am still slow :p
I reached top speed 181 with gearing 15/44 but feels a bit long shifting to 6th.
Maybe try 14/44 next time but than the bike will be at 9200-9300 revs at the end of the straight to short?
Bike still makes power all the way to 10k but afraid of hurting it lol
After trackday I brought my bike to a suspension guy who is an expert in supermoto suspension and he said my bike was awful suspension wise...
The rear way to low and soft and the front soft beginning of Stroke and hard at the end an also very stick/static lots of room for improvements.
Will get it back next week.

Yesterday another trackday same track bike feels realy different with the suspension done!
It took a few turns to get used to but it gives me much more front end feel and the bike just goes into turns REAL easy:happy:
Had some fuel hose problems (again) and had to skip some sessions to get it fixed but lucky there where other people to help me who brought fuel hoses and in the afternoon I could ride again:spin:

Took my bikes (bot of them) to a track weekend I was planning to ride my gsxr first because that was standing still for the longest period of time.
But The first session I cam of early on gixxer because of cramps in my hands/wrists and spend the rest of the day on the husaberg:p

Also the second day started on husaberg (had to much fun).
But noticed the bike spewed out a lot of oil through the airbox and the glas was below half so I tryed do get it to correct level again.
Started of with just a little didn't even see a difference, so added some more but took a long time to actualy see the level in the glas when it finally arrived I saw it was to much now (almost completely full in glas).
So I decided to ride it anyway it was hot didnt want to loosen my drain plug get messy was lazy...
After some laps started realy riding agressive full throttle/revs and on the straight my bike started to stutter (had this before with fuel hose problem.)
So I slowed down try to look what was wrong and quickly noticed it was the oil...
Bike died on me and does not want to start anymore lots of oil in arbox and smoke coming from exhaust trying to start but it will not turn over to be continued:(
Will start taking the fuel tank of tomorow and loosen radiators remove spark plug try clean up/start and if that does not work the head will come of:rolleyes:
If it does start after cleaning the spark plug I will instal new plug and change the oil (was planning to do that after this trackday anyway).
Hope this does not cost me hundreds of €

Tryed a new sparklplug I get spark fuelpump is working but bike does not want to start I think electrical problem.
Starter works fine bike smells like fuel after trying start but no response from engine.
Luckily this did not happen right away at the track had some decent track time on it before taking the gixxer out:cool: also just replaced rear brake pads the first bike I ever owned that I have gone through a set of rear pads:p
At +270 hours now;)

I am realy thinking what possibly whent wrong it was very hot and my left radiator is a bit bend because of a crash maybe my cooling was not working enough reving it hard at +30° and it overheated causing piston rings fail/burn oil maybe seize cooling down...
Or just something electrical left bike at dealer he will check if it's electrical problem if not and bike still does not start head will come of:rolleyes:

I checked partlist for a new radiator around 200/piece:eek:
For the price of one you can get these would they be any good???
KTM 400 450 525 540 560 SX EXC SMR 2003-2007 AS3 RACING ALUMINIUM RADIATORS RADS | eBay

Better cooling never hurts but maybe thats just sales talk any experience with these???

My dealer think my bike failed because of a crack in the piston that was already there.
When I added oil probably oil was on top of the piston and on compression stroke pressure got to high and the crack got bigger causing a big leak and thats why there was a lot of blue smoke before it died.

My cylinder/head is of and the piston has a crack over the complete middle almost cracked in half:eek:
Luckily no further damage no metal parts in oil or magnet and cilinder has some very minor scratches you can barely feel or see now thinking what to do...
Will get my cylinder measured again and maybe install stock piston so I can ride again soon or take a break this winter and save for 610 build:rolleyes:

Another **** update finished rebuild with oem size 2 piston today.
I checked the head looked at valves for damage but couldn's see anything unusual so left the head alone and did not remove the valves.
So today motor is back ready to start loud ticking noise and bike does not like to idle I tryed fiddling with camchain tensioner (desperate I know) hoping that would solve the ticking but no ofcourse not so I am thinking it wil be one or more valves are bend:rolleyes:
I can start getting the head of again and getting a bit sick of this sh*t.
In the meantime my alpina rims are finished and ready to ship to me but for the moment I kinda had it with this bike:unsure:
Stupid mistake not dissasembling the valves when head was off but yeah I am not expereinced mechanic and everything looked fine to me:mad:

I was just contemplating skipping the head on the engine I'm slowly fixing. Maybe I should learn from your mistake...

Better be safe than sorry I guess if the head is of taking the valves out is only a smal job if you can use the right tools.
Yesterday I also intalled a raintyre on my 5 inch rim (racetec 160/60) and the tyre does not realy fit in the swingarm to wide it barely touches the right side of the swingarm and on the left its touching/slightly pushing the chain.
What is the best way to get more clearance I want to use this tyre do a burnout with the side of the trye against a walll:D
