Ohlins TTX on the new Bergs?

try the SPI-3 too

I don't like it in forks because it retains bubbles too easily but with the pressurised TTX it should be fine may be a little heavy though, then i would use BP bartran HV15 or HV22

FINALLY!!!! After 2 months waiting, shipping etc, my 2010 TTX stuff is here, ready to be mounted on my 09 FE570-shock,springs,cartridges,tools:) The crazy thing is that the shock is to be mounted upside down 8O ...I have no idea how it will look like, but will see these days. :bounce3:

Give us a ride reoprt soon. I will have some revalved CC forks and a re-revalved shock today.............

will do for sure....I was planning to try and hopefully polish the fork's lower tubes...now I believe I will not be patient enough with all these fancy boxes around my bed

well. I am not sure if I was able to publish the initial pictures properly and I am not sure if this is the crazy way to put the shock in-Just wrote Harry Reed a mail for confirmation....at least the manual says so.....I am not the best believer though......If everything is ok, I will put the shock and cartridges tomorrow.......

Upside down, I never thought about that. It looks like there is almost enough room to build a spacer and use a KTM shock.

I guess an email to Harry is in order. This is an expensive post.......

upside down forks and now shocks

looks nicer really as the shaft is more protected from the rear wheel dirt

how close is the chain to the res though?

mmmm not convinced of the shock being up side down, more unsprung weight and the reservior is going to get hammered, plus the adjustment clickers will get coated in crap, seems like a lazy solution to me, looks like they didnt want to bother to make a proper one with the reservior at the top which would have needed new casting/s

in a word...................dissapointed

makes the Coppersmith custom build ones look a better option

I think some of you guys are showing how young you are. That is right side up. The way they use to be. Then somewheres around 1977 Marty Smith showed up with a RCII that had the shocks upside down. As Gazza said, less unsprung weight. Even the first uni-shock suspension had the shock body on the bottom.

But it looks like they made a new casting on the top to connect to the swingarm.

Agree somewhat disappointing. I can see how tipping the bike on the shifter side in the rocks could be very bad for the reservoir.

anyone got any clues, aside from lazyiness, why they put it upside down ??

Loooks to it would fit the other way up, would it hit the tank ?? must be some reason...................still dont like it though, not like Ohlins to do a half arsed job

Coppersmith will do a custom one right way up by modding a KTM one re the bolt on fittings, but about an extra $800  I held off on getting one while wating for the off the shelf production model, but now :?

It looks like it would fit but you may not be able to get at the adjustment screws.

Opps, it would probably hit the tank, i forget the tanks extend to the rear subframe, with a space towards the frame for the shock. If the Ohlins were upright the reservoir would point toward the subframe and I am pretty sure the reservoir and the tank would take up the same space.

Is it a very different shape or size compared to the stock WP one ?? Looks similar by the photos.

It should fit, as I said Coppersmith have modded KTM ones to fit ok.

So you can adjust the preload with out taking off the shock.....

According to some. The coppersmith is the half assed one.... But I am not naming names.

Mr. Guinea Pig (me) made few more pictures showing different comparisons with OEM WP shock. As for TTX: it seems that the reservoir is protected from any direct mud coming from the rear tire, the casting also seems to be build on purpose- there is a small screw in one of the corners though coming from inside the shock....weird bike-weird parts

I will make also weight comparison today but so far the TTX shock's body seems lighter than WP's
