Here's what I did to my harsh forks 02 FE501

Hi All, After not getting satisfaction from 2 suspension 'experts' to stop deflections here is what I did: Threw away the Gold Valves that one mob put in Turned the original BTV upside down - some drilling required. This is to use the larger rebound holes of the unit for compression - more...

    4357 Forks for 2000

So there I was, Happily installing new fork springs (.54's) in my recently acquired 2000 Fe 501 Dualsport (CA Legal). When all of a sudden, the rod (for adjusting dampening) that connects to the top adjuster Knob falls (breaks) off. Now what? It looks like the knob just kind of screws into the...

Anybody ever use 10wt in Forks?

I am at 210 lbs with 4.8s up front and at 125mm on air gap and still blowing through the travel on a moto track. The forks have been revalved two times and still having issues. I remember in the old days we revalved by the fork oil weight and the oil is at 7wt now. I see Motul makes 5,10,15,20...

    Seals for forks

I read somewhere that we can change the front fork seals with the ones from honda CRF. Am I right? Only have to machine the iner legs to match the outside diameter of the seals. What you can say about that? Where can I get that info?

Hi everyone, My 2000 FC600 has earlier 50mm conventional WP forks and I recently removed them to renew the seals. Is there any specific order I should follow when re-fitting them to ensure everything is running straight & true? Pretty basic question I know, but I'm not the world's greatest...

    Shocking forks - literally (02 FE501)

Hi, I'm wondering what others have done to fix their forks, assuming I'm not alone. It feels like they hydraulic lock when asked the big...
