    Cracked swing arm

Hello all - I've just got a '94 350 in need of a fair bit of TLC as a project. Although I've not posted here before, browsing the forum has already answered a lot of questions that I had. I've stripped it down and had the frame powder coated and fitted new head bearings. Whilst the frame was...

Rocker arm axles inner end play?

Dr_C's gallry shows this, inner ends of the rocker arm axles are tied down by a pair of cover bolts. I cant't remember that here are any bolts there on my rocker cover. Thinking of it, it seems like a good idea to have them. What happens, without these bolts, if the axle inner ends start to...

    Swing Arm spindle removal

Hi, I'm removing the engine from my 1999 FE501E for a general overahaul. I've got everything disconected but cannot get the swing arm spindle to slide out. This is unlikely to be the first instance of such an issue. I'm assuming corrosion. Does anyone have any advice or tips on how to...

    Lost rocker arm end bolt

I've lost one of the two bolts (#15 on page 24 of 01 parts manual) used to adjust the rocker arm play. It came from the fact that the thread was gone, I guess, because the bolt would turn endlessly (swear it's not from me overtorquing, this time). How bad is the fact that I cannot adjust the...

    Rocker arm cover oil leak

I've got a persistent oil leak from the rocker arm cover/cylinder head joint on my '02 fe400, it looks to be at the left front corner, the side with the 'o'ring seals for the cam blanking cap. I know this is a metal to metal joint, but I tried using a thin loctite bearing sealer liquid to stop...

I am having a hell of a time trying to get the bolt that holds the swing arm on out, it's the one that goes through the motor. One end has a normal nut on it that came off no problem but the other side has a big nylock nut that is jammed up against the frame making turning it impossible...

    Camchain tension/new tensioner arm

The following applies to ´01 thru´03 engines: I was surprised to see how taut my new cam chain was when mounted, so I checked around. I had been handed a ´05 tension arm 800.36.002.100 and not the one Taffy speaks of in the Doc (800.36.002.000 ´04). Just got off the phone with...
