Are they reliable? I am coming off a drz400 and then a ktm300 2T. I am wondering wether there is a catch to the 109kg claimed weight of the 650. Would I expect problems and lots of visits to the mechanics. :p

What sort of bike are they - very high performance/maintenance, medium maintenance, low maintenance.

What kind of resale value do husabergs have? Are they hard to sell?

Hello Noel,

Welcome to the site. I've only ever owned 650s but it would be very helpful if you could tell us the kind of thing you're looking to do with it - it's all relative.

Cheers,
Simon

Enduro riding. Normally 80km of single track and trails every weekend

I meant to say FE650E not the FS

i've got an 02 650 and an 04 450 and they are both good bikes in their own element. the 450 is great for the more technical type of trails (where throttle control is more necessary), but not the best for open country. the 650 will wear you out if you try to ride it aggressively in the tight stuff, but if its more open and less technical , then its power is awesome. from the past history of the type of bikes you are coming from, my advice is to try the 450.

I forgot to add that I also ride an XR630 and it's my favourite especially in the tight stuff. Lots of torque and weight is down low. I just worried that the FE650E will have too many niggly problems and things to worry about like the TPS for one.
Are bergs genaerally hard to sell used.

I have a 07 and love it. it is a tad heavy in the tech trails but the power is so usable it seems to compensate for the weight And in the desert Wow amazing. The power is so smooth and linear that it helps me get out of trouble more than getting me in trouble. If that makes any sense.

Wondering wether to get 08 or 09 model
What's with the no kickstart. That is dissapointing.

What are the major differences between the 08 and 09 husabergs aside from the radical engine. Would the 09 be too hard to work on the engine. Will they be bringing out 550 and 650 09 models?
