Italy deserved to win. They were creating a lot of game and the Germans were being their old self (very monolithic, running a lot, courageous but little style and boring).

Instead of settling for a draw and going into the PKs where they had all their chances, the Germans decided to attack during stoppage time and their line of defense was way too high... All the Italians needed to do was to counter and that was it. They showed more maturity and smart.

As for Portugal vs France, it was not a bad game, Portugal tried real hard, I thought they'd go to overtime (frankly they deserved it). I think the referee was quite unfair. The PK was there but besides that there were a few instances where he let the French get away with obvious fouls.

The 3rd place game is always rich in goals, it should be quite interesting.

I predict a very boring final, although this will be Zidane's last game and I expect him to bow down in style.

I know more about soccer/football than I wished I did, they made me play it, back there it was mandatory like Sunday church for the Mormons.

As for France they went farther than anybody would think, it's already a very satisfying result. Losing to Italy would not be as bad as losing to Germany

I simply cannot believe that a player in his position would do something like that. The selfishness and lack of self-control of that one foul will define the way people remember him.

It was a very dirty game overall. It has become a very dirty game in general, anyway. Most of the final games were marred by bad attitude, recurrent diving, aggressive fouls and bad decisions on top of that.

I was disappointed with the behavior of the Italians against the Germans in the semi. They were rude and dirty. They were not as visually rude against France, but apparantly the verbal taunts got the best of ZZ. I got to admit, I like to watch ZZ play, he is one the the greats and he deserved to go out better than that. Truly sad.

I really enjoyed the consi game, even C rondaldho putting on drama class with his writhing in pain from impacts that didn't occur.
All in all, I say it was a successful WC. For the first time in over 60 years, it was good to be a proud German and show it. Also, a young German team showed that they could hold their own against seasoned vets. Additionally, FIFA made a clear point that they will punish rough play (OK, I know they went a bit over the top), now they need to finish the job and punish the drama queens. The flopping around like a fish out of water, clutching body parts, and waving arms is disgraceful. Oh well, we've got 4 more years of league play, friendlys, and qualifiers to get that worked out.

They always tell you to play with your head.
Ha,that gif was taken from dutch tv.
Anyway, sad how ZZ played his last match, good the 4th official(cameras?) and the line-referees had good contact with the referee and gave ZZ the red card.
they should use more and more cameras and re-runs to punish these kinds of foul play and punish all actors who trying to give the other team a card.
We call them "matenaaiers" :(
PS,the referee played a perfect match,no blame for him!!

In spite of everything said above
