Oh come on now - don't be like that.
Taffy told you where to find the info you need.
Now you can get your "brother" to put it back together again.

Ok,try this from memory all the plugs are unique that is only one plug and socket will fit ,check you get colur too colour wires in the matching plugs work slowly and carefully and you"ll be ok, wiring diagrams are in the techo section but if your not a sparkie then they can be a bit confusing ........colin

Can you tell us which year 400 you have? And what spec is it? Does it have all the lights, blinkers etc for street use?

And by the way, the fella's are just giving you a friendly ribbing. Genuine personal attacks are not usually tolerated for very long here. As I am sure you will see if you spend any time at all here.

Taffy is by far one of the most well rounded in his knowledge of these bikes.

So, you can go to the downloads section of this site,or to the Mother site Husaberg.se find your year motorcycle and down load the owners manual which has the wiring diagrams that you are looking for, including wire colors. That should get you on your way.

Brown is usually ground, yellow's are usually the hot wires from the stator charging circuit, and the blue one from the stator is the ground reference to the stator. On my 01 one of the yellow's connects to another yellow, and one goes to a red. The blue wire from the stator, and all the browns on my 01 501 all connect to a grounding bus that is attached to the reg/rect. On my bike there is a multi pin connector for the ignition, however, on the 02's they went to bullet type connectors so I can't help you there.

If you have any questions after looking at the diagrams, and the wiring you have feel free to ask.

The early model bikes don't have wiring digrams in the owner's manual, but for them you can download the service manual from this site. There are also a couple of ad-hoc drawings of wiring diagrams people have done for the early models that might help.

Also download the parts manual for your bike. While the 3D views aren't drawn exactly as each loom is laid out on the bike, it does give you a good idea of what name Husaberg uses for each loom part. The names themselves can be helpful in identifying where they go on the bike.

In future I'd recommend not dismantling the wiring just to clean it, even if you know exactly where they all go. Each time you work the wires and plugs you make them that little bit more likely to give trouble.

I'd also recommend a liberal coating of the plugs (or even filling them up) with petroleum jelly before plugging them back in. It helps keep the water out, reducing corrosion and the likelihood of bad connections. It also makes them unplug at a later date with less force.

If you tell us what model year the bike is someone probably has the same model, can snap some pictures and this will get you started. You can then post some pics of the wires you have left and I am sure we can figure it out.

Mr. Green400 emailed me the other day after I pm'd him and his bike is an 01 400. I scanned and emailed him the wiring diagram out of my 01 owner's manual but have not heard back from him since. No news is good news I guess.........

It might be worth mailing him back sometime soon to confirm all is OK with his bike and reassure him that no ill-feeling was meant by any of the comments made. This site is not so sterile that people can't have a bit of fun with what they post. It is pretty rare that truly pointed remarks are intended, especially to new members.

I only say this because I have spoken with other people who, as newbie members, have felt unwelcomed by some of the ole farts around here and not returned to UHE because of it. I think this is UHE's loss.

<soap box>
On the other hand, if all that is wanted is a quick solution to a problem with no intention to give anything back then f**k 'em! Even a tongue-in-cheek, smart-*** comment would be welcome.....

LOL! I love the soap box version!! Gave me a good laugh.

I'll shoot him an email to check up. Although in my email I was very nice and explained everything is detail as best I could. Willing to give the benefit of doubt, perhaps just busy with life.

I've sent a few pm's in my time here to folks who got a bit miffed and re assured them that no ill intent was meant. In fact, I was the receiver of such a pm a long time ago when I got what I thought was a bit of a rough response to an innocent question.

All in all though, you have to admit this has got to be one of the most straight up motorcycle sites around. There has been very few dust ups here, and that's pretty amazing considering all of the ego's that are here. I mean c'mon, we all have big ego's to do what we do on motorcycles. So, sometimes there's a bit of posturing, but, in the end I think that 99.99999% of everyone here respects each other, and gives respect.

The one thing that I really like about everyone here, is that if there is a bit of a p*ssing match, if the offender man's up and apologizes all is forgiven and the way ahead is clear. Just like good friends do. Perfection is a direction, not a place.

i have not yet had chance to work of the diagram you sent- but maybe a picture would help- im not technically minded so diagram looks difficult thanks
