When are we going to hold FR 4?

Okay Sister and Brothers,

When are we going to go to FR 4?

It looks like Gunnison is the the place and last time I believe we held FR 3 the 17-20 of September.

I set up the poll so you can re cast your vote for a different day if you want.

Thanks for posting this. I don't have a preference, so I didn't vote but I'm looking forward to whatever date everyone picks.

i didnt vote yet cause i am gonna check with some others that i hope can go to.
one comment.....it does get cold there so earlier = warmer??

When you guys figure it out please cast some votes so we can get a consensus going that will work with the majority of riders.

A few thoughts.
1) After 09/15 lodging rates are lower and plentiful (off peak season).
2) September can be a crap shoot as far as weather. It was a big concern (for me anyways) at F3. Fortunately the weather was great for the most part.
3) There could be a problem booking a group this size before the first or second week in Sept.

I voted for late August before reading this. Cheaper lodging is good. I didn't want to vote again or will it change my vote?

Kzoo called me yesterday and mentioned something I obviously overlooked DOH!

That first week in September is Labor Day..............Probably not a good weekend to try and book rooms on the last hurrah of the summer. I didn't even think of this when I was creating the poll.

Should I take it out? I believe, as Berger mentioned that the rates are much cheaper after the 15th. I will try and call Harmels this week, and also check out the camp grounds that Fritz gave me that are 1/2 mile up the road for those of us RV'ing it. I, or anyone else is welcome to check out the KOA as well. However, Fritz had stated that Harmels is an all in one place with cabins, meeting place, and restaurant/bar on site.

For those of us planning on flying in, Labor day is not preferable. High travel day and high rates.

I took labor day weekend out of the poll. Unfortunately, that took the other poll responses out.

There were:
0 votes for the 3rd week in August,
2 for the last weekend in August,
3 for the first week in September ( Labor Day)
2 for the second week in September
1 for the third week in September

Please recast your votes! I have also set this poll up so you can change your vote so feel free to do so.

I haven't been on teh site for a ..long time..but very glad to see you guys are continuing FR. I'd like to come, hook up with those of you that I met a the first two, and meet the new site members. I'm afraid I cannot make it, the first two weekends we are on family vacation, and the September weekends, I'm with CGRT for the last two rounds of the Canadian Enduro Series, in Quebec and Ontario.

Keep well all and enjoy the ride!!

i'm not going to vote as its actually easier for me to get there - even though i have to put my leave into work 18 month in advance i can swap it around - than it is for some who are in the US so just need to know when.

i am right in thinking Gunnison again?

wonder if i can hire a challenger this time as that H2 humvee was ****...

I just contacted Harmel's Resort.They have plenty of room 18-21 of AUG,same 25-28, Sept 8-11 pretty full, and 15-18th it is filling up but at this stage can still handle 50ish people. After the 18th of Sept if we get enough people we can probably do what we want.It sounded if we come they will accomodate us.

thanks for the leg work fritz.
its nice to have a guy 'on the inside'.
there should be 3 or 4 of us coming from las vegas.
we all are open for the date with one opinion for the holiday weekend, which adds monday to a regular day off.
i am guessing that the 1st thing to nail down is the dates, then reserve our own lodging.
