Brendan, nice essay. I agree with you regarding kids today and how they are raised. BUT...there is NO correlation showing an improvement in our education system as more money gets spent. In fact, just the opposite. the improvement in education will come when lazy parents start taking a real interest in their kids instead of giving them to the government schools to baby-sit them. Too many people want to blame government for not teaching their kids something! That never ceases to amaze me. Dad AND Mom HAVE to work, how else do we buy all of these new ATV's? Sorry folks, but if you put a bunch of kids in an affluent, self-serving society that denies itself nothing, this is what you get; a bunch of spoiled kids that don't know squat. And it is the parents to blame, not the government. If we did away with the Department of Education, things would change quick for sure! Just my 2 cents, (2 pence Taffy?). Don't get me started on what Americans do over-seas for others. The Olympics has absolutely nothing to do with making motorcycles. Go tell Cobra they are a failure, or Harley Davidson. Off-road bike manufacturing in the US is only as distant as the next great dream to build one, (with a great business plan!) BD
