What happened to JBS? Has anyone ever seen the ruggedized cases they advertise on the site?

they never made them. there was lots of great ideas in the line but it never happened.

unfortunately, 2008 was the last year of Husaberg and so all the ScX boys moved away over 2-3 years. a great shame.

JBS ended up making the first KIPS or whatever anachronym it was that they used in F1 when the first energy saving systems were tried. I think he made a few bob at those for a while.

Taffy, have you worked with JBS? I can't explain why they stopped developing components for husaberg, if they wanted to, they could also develop products for motorcycles beyond 2008. Maybe because of the economic crisis? However, their site was well stocked with racing components.

This is where he was heading at the time. he wasn't interested in Husabergs as such, more interested in Engineering.

Did I know him? no. He's a strange man. He started to make 100HG for me and the first 20 were all undersize, I explained to him that if he didn't know it, 100mm was the NOMINAL size and I needed 101mm. So I sent the headgaskets back as he said that he would sort it.

DCR did the same (unbeknown to me) and DCR sent them in say a blue plastic bag. anyway, 5 days later I got a blue plastic bag with 20 HGs in it just the same!

he'd sent me DCRs and DCR had received mine!

never dealt with him again although I do a bit with one of his brothers. the two 'other' brothers don't get on with him now.

shame!

Thanks Taffy for sharing. The photo of the engine is also interesting, even if I don't think a rod and rocker arm distribution is the best for a racing engine ... maybe it has bevel gears? However, the behavior you described about JBS is typical of those who have a different goal from what they are working on, and prefer to lose the customer in order to earn.
