what happend to HMS Motorsports

Their web site has been down for about a week or so. They have some fenders on Ebay right now though.

RE: HMS

another classic example of having a market by the ***, and giving it away.

Contacting them has always been hit or miss with me. I think they like to take off for weeks at a time. Maybe you could try the ebay link.

I was supposed to do some business with them (parts trading...) about 14 months ago, and got blown off... All due respect, I don't see them as reliable. They must have other more lucrative business ventures on hand. GOOD LUCK!!!!

I bought my FE400 from HMS last spring...every thing was by fax...no one answered the phone and the VMX was always full. The bike arrived missing parts and there was no follow up support after they got my money...I no not recommend them.

Their site is now back up. I was never able to get an e-mail response from them when they had tons of 03's up for grabs. Hopefully they will get it together at some point as we cannot afford to loose any Husaberg dealers. Posting on this site from time to time and confronting any past issues might be helpful in returning to credibility.

Hi,

that´s interesting.
Today I was in the Netherlands on an Enduro event and
I talked to a guy, who is from Holland.
He told me that Husabergs in the Netherlands are quite cheap,
because they got them from USA, HMS Motorsports.
Brand new bikes, which obviously weren´t sold in the States, that are shipped back to Europe.
I wonder what kind of business they are doing....?
I just wanted to have look on their website.

greetings

Having been to HMS to pick up a new bike and ordered plenty of parts from them, I can assure you they are real. Peter has LOTS of parted out Bergs and new parts. A lot of dealers go to Peter for parts. Since he is in a little town in the middle of nowhere(Angel Fire, New Mexico) his store front traffic is low, so he doesn't tend to keep current models on the floor like your local dealer will have. When Husaberg has leftover models at a big discount, Peter snaps them up. My bike was one of 90 or so he had. He is Dutch and has lots of European contacts/friends including guys at the Husaberg factory. That's probably how some bikes went back home. He does tend to run the business pretty laid back and is not always in the shop, hence his # is a cell phone. Since cell phone coverage is **** in Angel Fire he can be hard to track down or even get a message to. I just keep trying. He really is a great guy and I see him honest as well. Just wanted to clear things up a bit for all.

@hribmann; sure they are cheap but when someone sells an 01 for being an 02 or an 02 for being an 03, this is not correct. I spoke to a guy who couldn't get the bike to start. I walked over and looked at the bike. So I asked something in the lin off: how long do you have this bike, looks like an 01l? He looked at and said it was an 03 that he picked up 4 weeks ago. I then said well nice bike and didn't mention it had some distinctive features of an 01, maybe veryvery early 02 model. Mine is really an 02, also according to specs and when compaired somethign wasn't right. His bike had the round silencer on it amongst others.
But cheap is cheap I guess. And due to this my resale, which was crap to begin with but I knew this, is going down. One of the few times the importer gets busy and he floods the market with these leftovers. :(
