Weephole is picky...leaks coolant but not water?

Last night switched from water to coolant (70/30). Ran it and no problem.

Today road to wash and then downtown to work ~4 miles away.

All was good. Had to shrink wrap and electrical tape the front small breather hose because pulled a "Tony too tight" which tore the hose. Happy no leak..for now and hopefully however long it takes to get new one.

Did a spin around the Loop before heading out and after a few miles of city riding (turning off bike when catching fresh red) she decides to pulse out coolant from Weephole.

Zero leaks with water since changing seal two weeks ago and riding in some 90 degree heat.

Today is low to mid 80's with cool breeze off lake. Minimal standing.

Guessing it is just coincidental and when breather puked oil engine heated up and cooked seal, weakening it so it popped with minimal strain.

Does the pulsing of the ejection of fluid mean anything specific? Thought it normally just seeped out consistently.

Thanks for any incite from the long toothed Berg owners!

Hi

Not sure if I understood but ...

Oil out of the breath hose (a lot) means rings are going south

Coolant out from the weep hole is the small seal of the clutch cover is out, or you ruined it when installing the cover

Hope it helps

My apologies Zaga. Giving too much information.

I think I may have flubbed the water pump seal install but since I put water inside radiator and it only leaked when very hot I never noticed it.

Since my breather hose has a crack in it and I was trying to fix temporarily until new one gets ordered my main concern was sealing the crack in the hose and stemming the oil leaking from it.

Thank you for heads up on piston rings. Think much is due the hundreds of hours being racked up. Though it is city riding...it will take its toll. Main bearing still seems tight which is a major concern for engine damage and costs.

When refilled with water it didn't take more than a couple ounces so seal can it wait to be changed with oil..in a week or two. Not as big a worry as it seemed.

Last week picked up three spare seals with o-rings for shaft and for coolant pathway between clutch cover and block.

The old one gave me trouble because it shrank and so didn't fit right. I tried twice with it and then grabbed an old one. The old one was smartly put in a plastic bag so it didn't dry out and shrink.

The shop wouldn't get the o-rings until after the weekend so tried to make due with what was available.

Overcome!
