Hi

The bike is 2005 FE650 and i need O-ring for waterpump 10,00x1,30 NBR 70 SH (code 0770 010013)
but the problem is - i cant get anywhere this size. Only size i can get is 10,00x1,50 is it ok to use little bit bigger O-ring? The gap is only 0,2mm

Not quite what you are asking, but i have just installed a water pump seal kit from Orange Berg. This things is a great idea and so simple that it should have been used by Husaberg themselves, and it is cheap, $75 Australian and can be re-used as needed

To answer your question, no, I don't think so.

It is very difficult as it is to get the cover back on with standard O ring. Just order a couple from your dealer so you'll have a spare. They are not very much money.

Be sure and put a good film of grease on the shaft and the O ring when installing the case. As well, place some kind of protector over the end of the shaft to protect the water pump seal from the impellor circlip groove. Use a thin coat of grease there.

The Orangeberg kit that I got provides a water pump bearing and an Oil seal, you still have to use the stock water pump seal, and the stock little O ring. The stock O ring, I imagine is maintain a good purchase on the inner race of the new bearing.

what i didn't understand is if there is weeping only if the oring is damaged or it is normal having some oil leaking from that small hole.

AND

10,00x1,30 NBR 70 SH (code 0770 010013) with this code can i buy the oring for my bike (06 650) in any store? because I have a store which sells only seals and gaskets which maybe has this o-ring...

Hi pastullo
Over here we have industrial supply stores that specialise in bearings, pulleys, belts etc and they stock or can usually get any size o ring you need.
They cost next to nothing.
You should have something like that over there.

Hey Dale
If you still use the stock wp seal and o ring in the Orangeberg kit what's the diff between the kit and stock??
Is it a different bearing and seal on the oil side??

that 'O' ring should be 1.25mm x 10mm ID. i know that quite regularly when i place the cover back on she slices the edges off the 'O' ring. so to have 1.5mm would be too much. 1.3mm i should try.

Coastie,

Yes, the Orangeberg kit has a real oil seal that sits down in the well where the original water pump bearing was. The new bearing is in an aluminum holder that slips part way into the new oil seal. The new bearing is much smaller than the stock one and is totally open. Since the new bearing is much smaller you end up with a raised edge if you will, and therefore there is a constant pool of oil in between the new oil seal and the bearing. The oil level in this pool is I would guess maybe 5mm lower that the bottom of the water pump shaft at rest.

Hope this helps,

Dale

Hi Dale

I think I understand what you mean.
Are you saying that it basically eliminates the special OEM oil seal that comes fitted on the bearing?
But I can't see how it would make the water side seal problem any better.

Coastie,

The Orangeberg seal is only intended to seal the shaft against oil leaking into the weep hole. It is cup shaped, and the open side of the cup faces the motor and the new bearing carrier sits into this cup shaped seal. I was told that it is in fact a valve stem seal.

And yes you are right, it basically eliminates the seal that goes on the weep hole side of the stock bearing. But instead of just sealing the bearing, the orange berg seal seals the shaft with conventional sealing mechanism, aka a circular spring.
