Clutch Slave Cylinder O-Ring

Just take the slave cylinder off pull the piston off and measure the o ring.
Check it against the sizes earlier in the post. If it is a match you have the KTM part number from Taffy's post.
If not get the nearest match from one of the on line engineering suppliers.
Mines done over 20 hours since replacing the o ring. It is working fine and I am confidant it will be good for a long time yet.

Re: Clutch Slave Cylinder O-Ring - Repost

From an earlier post.

If you want to fix this right and fix it once, go with the Sigutech billet clutch slave cylinder available at KTM Twins. It's about $180, but well worth it knowing that it will not leak. This is the link for the one that fits the 2011 FE-450. Talk to Ron at KTW Twins if you have any questions and concerns.

I installed one and it has solved the leakage issue.

The Husaberg / KTM clutch slave has a basic design problem. Single O-ring on the piston, when the piston moves, it wobbles and the O-ring leaks.

Someone in the Husaberg.org forum mentioned that the correct O-ring for the Husaberg / KTM slave clutch piston is

KTM P/N 0770291016 O-ring 29,10x1,60,NBR 70

Cheers,

Blaine

Just to let everyone know, that is not the right part # for the 09 570. 99 cents at the auto shop I got the closest match. Going to test it out this afternoon.

Quick update. Road some street and bush roads, then some tight single track. 50 kms in and the clutch seems to be working great. 99 cent o-ring is way better than a new slave! So far so good!

it would be helpful if you'd made a note of the 'O' ring dimensions and added to the UHE info.....

regards

Taffy

Sorry, I don't have the dementions. I just took the piston with o-ring to the local auto shop and matched the closest o-ring. I haven't had a problem since and that was many, many km's ago!

I removed the piston and took some measurements. My measurements matched those from member "975" on ThumperTalk, see post #9 on the following thread titled "Clutch Fluid Leak":
http://www.thumpertalk.com/topic/681191 ... luid-leak/

So apparently the stock o-ring is 23.52 x 1.78mm. In the AS568 Standard (USA), the dash number is -021. According to the chart, the Nominal reference is 15/16" ID and 1/16" C.S. I went to NAPA Auto and got a hydraulic o-ring with these nominal values. So far, so good...

Here's a thread that suggests KTM part number 54832067000 might work for the Husabergs:
http://www.dirtbikeworld.net/forum/show ... hp?t=87108 I Googled this PN and found this info:
http://www.athenaparts.com/eng/products ... n70-tp2093 . The size of this o-ring is 23.52 x 1.78mm. I'm not sure how this o-ring differs from the one mentioned earlier in this thread by member "bfly", which is KTM part number 0770020210, with the same dimensions.
