Letter of Intent
To: The Members
From: The UHE Admins & Moderators
Before we begin with the formalities with this letter, please understand that this is not meant to inject any more drama or static in the forum. We're attempting to get rid of what recently has become more prominent at the site, and this should be intended as a courtesy and as fair warning. After reading this, you should have no question as to what is acceptible and what is not in regards to public communication on this site. If you do, then please err on the side of caution. The penalties have been clearly listed and are to be used by the discretion of the admins or mods of the UHE.
Our intent as the A&M group is to return the forum to what we feel and what we have heard the members want in the site; that being a gathering spot for Husaberg enthusiasts. This is the sole purpose of the site, and of late, a select few of the members have done things that not only fall outside of that narrow focus, but also work against it. This is our attempt to return the site to the rightful owners, those being the productive, constructive and helpful members. We are aware that not everyone will be amiable to this new effort, but we feel that something has to be done before the time passes that we are able to make beneficial changes.
During the course of the following, please bear in mind that three warnings will result in an automatic loss of forum privileges.
Below are statements of change, reinforcements of existing rules, and repercussions to be issued to the offending party.
Any disciplinary action by an administrator or moderator will be done solely at his discretion. All actions will be swift, immediate, without explanation and not open to discussion.
Rules & Regulations
1) We will no longer allow a post that serves no other purpose than to belittle, humiliate or offend another member. Posting private messages in the public forum in an attempt to humiliate or shame another member would fall under this category. If you take issue with someone, you should contact them privately if all you need to say is how much you dislike them. Please don't mistake this with disagreeing with someone. The issue we have is with people who take the time to post in a thread simply to publicly show your dislike of another member. If you are not able to contain yourself, then we will help you in this area by deleting your post. Repeat offenses will result in a warning or immediate suspension, depending on the severity.
2) Any attempt to post under a false identity to protect anonymity during a post in the manner of what we describe in number one will result in an immediate loss of forum privileges. We take this very seriously due to the fact that the only thing that keeps people in check in an online enviroment is the fact that their online identity can be damaged by things they post. This is the only thing that will keep people from taking a fault-free approach to posting anything they'd like with absolutely no fear of repercussion in regards to the content of their communications. For this reason, if we discover this happening, we will disable both the poster's initial account as well as the false account. If another account is created, we will block the IP address, and every proxy server you find as you use it to register and post. We've got plenty of time if you do.
3) Every member must remember the prime purpose of this site is for the useful exchange of information relating to Husabergs. This would include tricks, tips, model info, rumors, meetings, rides, races, etc. The site's success hinges on useful info that people can use. To that end, you must remember that all members are equally important, regardless of the knowledge they bring to the table We are NOT about stroking egos, large post counts or any other egocentric pursuits. For this reason, we will not allow:
a)Post flooding. If you decide to add to, edit or deduct from your last thoughts and you are still the last member to post in that thread, please edit your last post. There is no reason for multiple consecutive posts from the same member.
b)Posting repsonses outside of the originating topic. Please keep all related material inside the parent topic.
c)Please keep in mind that all members enjoy the same privileges. Regardless of your time on site, post count or past contributions, you must adhere to the same rules that the newest member does. It is not fair to expect the admins & mods to play favorites.
4) While topics in the forum, and images in the gallery not directly relating to Husabergs are welcome, understand that it is at the sole discretion of a moderator or admin as to whether it belongs on the site. This means that if the thread is of a nature to foster anything but constructive discussion or a good natured chuckle, we will deal with it as we see fit. Same goes with images in the gallery. If you would like to show us a pic of your family camping, we welcome it. If you would like to show us a picture of your family at a topless bar, we reserve the right to remove it.
In Conclusion
We want you to enjoy your stay at your site. More importantly, we want any new prospective member that happens upon the site to feel welcome, and want to be part of the community. Neither can happen with the type of trash that a few dissenters have kept at the top of the forum in the last few weeks. We are not here for any one member's benefit. If your motive is to do anything other than help, then we are basically telling you that you are not welcome here. If your mission in life is to bring to the other members' attention the fact that you feel someone else on the site is a BAD GUY, please understand that we are not interested. We are not your therapist. We are not here to judge anyone on any basis other than how they treat the community at this site. If you saw a member molesting an alpaca behind a barn during a dealer meeting, please keep it to yourself. The spiteful, hurtful and derogatory content reflects much more on you than the person you intended to hurt, and is no longer going to be tolerated on this site. If a thread you are participating in gets locked or deleted, please carefully consider your role in the thread.
thanks,
The Management
