sorry bushie, i've not pics from the webcam :s

but I want to try it too!!

Have you try the cut7 cam on your 700 kit?

no I would like to try a different cam and bore the carb to 43mm

I keep fiddling with my frame layout and riding, more tourque/power is not so important with around 70 -75hp on a 102kg bike + me at 67kgs and a paddle tyre

I will do it sometime though

Johnnyberg how/where can you get the rev limit increased?

Hi Guys,
johnyberg, can you please explain what you did here;

7. Tune the TPS and increase the rev limit to 10.200-10.500.
have you got a rev counter?

Not sure you will gain much by reducing you compression with
a longer duration cam, need more compression to go with a
longer cam to be effective, IMO.
Otherwise what increases you gain with
more flow you will be loosing with less compression.

My build as is underway;

I have made the inlet ports smaller this time around (J B weld) similar to
but not quite the same as;
http://www.mototuneusa.com/think_fast.htm
to gain more torque, with no power loss hopefully.
Haven`t tested it yet though.

I have the KTM cratemotor cam, 8-07 SMS 36.010.000 no spray welded cams again!

What is the procedure of measuring cam specs, are we talking
cam lift or valve lift? is a rocker ratio to be considered here?
And at what is the standard for measuring duration? @1mm?

Will be running around 13.5 compression. Custom made Carrillo 136.5mm.
also K&N poddy on a 43.5 keihin with bellmouth inside
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=10475&p=89411#p89411
poddy is smaller than I would like but it is all I can get in as it is for now.

675cc piston kit ordered, JBS, with a titanium pin will weigh same as stock
Looking at doing a post valve seat combustion chamber mod to improve flow.
May go up from 37mm inlet valve to 38 titanium if anyone knows
a cheap source let me know!

Acra. large oil pump, oil cooler etc, etc...

The things we do for a bit of fun! :D

cheers spanner

Hey Spanner

that does sound like fun please let us know how it goes

supposed to set the lash at 4.5 thou and measure the duration/open/close at 1mm 40thou valve lift or some like webcams use 50 thou AFAIK and specs read from a degree wheel on the crank

a lot of specs seem out thoughwhen you look at the profiles .. I reckon they set the lash at zero and take the lift at a tad less than 40 thou.. cheating

so what is the new JBS piston weight ? 100mm elko is 278gm save 40gm on the Ti pin so new piston is at about 320gm ? or if its the old "650" piston @ 300gm used for comparison could be 340gm on the new jbs one ?

Hi bushie,

According to the piston library on the JBS web site the 103.65 piston without rings
or pin weighs 318grms.
Pretty close to stock if you use a titanium pin.
All in theory until I can weigh everything up.

Cheers spanner

JBS titanium pin is no longer available.
To remove weight, I mounted an other pin, 62g

the JBS Ti pins were Grade 19

the Trick titanium pins are Ti Grade 17, not as stiff or as strong if I remember right

I have a Trick titanium Pin it looks very nice but Im not game to put my 328gm 105mm piston on it. Be careful if they want to use the data I gave them for my pin as its oversize to fit the worn little end bush

next build lightened 80mmm crank 100mm bore, big cam 10 000 rpm and Ti pin

I can have titanium-dlc coated pin from a french race engine builder if you want,
but it's expensive, 200€ (280 US $)

What Grade Ti do they use Contiman?

hardened steel endcaps? DLC coated?

the life of a Ti pin is apparently similar to a steel pin having the same deflection but the Ti17 will deflect more than the steel pin and fatigue more quickly. they also require greater clearence.

You can also get Trick Titanium to make you a stiffer Ti/Moly alloy pin weighing around 60gms from memory

the trick titanium Guys were very good they have all the calculations sorted and were most excellent in customer service etc Ive been wanting to give them a plug but havent run the pin yet.

3. High comp piston (Wossner makes hi comp piston for the new 570, it fits perfect)

Johnyberg, have you got the wossner part number for this piston?
