small update.

done 6 hours in total on it now. Getting smoother with every run. just feels more alive.

not been on this for a while because.... well ive been riding the bike and nothing has broken. reliability is good. had a small hickup where i got the stator wet and it killed the spark but with some brake cleaner and dried all out she was back alive first kick. 650 with mods is a complete flying machine!

12 hours done now. changed the oil about 4 times now. no metla in any filters. ive raced it on my local race track (knockhill) And thats a large track. Dominated everything HOWEVER my bike was origonally a FE so it handles like a back of S**te, are the forks diffrent ? im on the Stock WP front and rear.

Crashed at about 85mph and the bike landed on me. foot peg broke my rib. piked it up and done another 4 sesions flat out. oil was black by the time i was done but non the less it took the beating well.

Parts needed now:

Front mudguard
Front light
Front light suround
New grips and new leavers... maybe some side plastics.

Also looking for some offroad wheels but there hard to find in the UK

I know forums can be full of negatives as to be honest why would you come on iff all is well with the bike.

massive thanks to Taffy and Bushmechanic and everyone else on the forum keeping these wild beasts alive

sounds like fun mate, however, to describe to everyone here Knochill as 'open' is a complete distortion of the truth!!!! in that case, I have a huge willy!

I lost my N-style sticker off my right hand blue panel. any chance that between us we could make a set - I certainly want to make a pair one last time!

I can't understand why nobody tries the tyre hugging front mudguard from a paris dakar KTM LC4 etc? aerodynamically they are are way better?

I need roadbike wheels and would swop for dirt but I don't think I have anything for sale. I have a set of rough looking wheels you can have for £300 that have discs and decent tyres? but your bike won't look much with them on?

regards

Taffy

Beauuuutiful!!!

Hey Gav.
Glad your motor is still going strong.
I was warned about bumping the compression on the older style of crank as the crank can flex a little much under duress.
Unfortunatly mine only lasted about 70 hours with higher compression before it spat the back off the mains and into the balancer bearing locking it solid (fortunatly at low revs and little load so no major damage done).
Admitadly I had been givving it a hard time prior to it breaking coz it was going so darn well.
Just be aware mate.

Cheers.... Darryl.

Did yuo sorted out where did come all that aluminium flakes.I think that metal is from Clutch drum teeth,im thinking to change Clutch Inner Hub "tubes" 2003 model.
